Fibracell material is a sophisticated composite of aerospace materials designed to precisely duplicate the way Nature constructs reed cane. Very stiff but sound absorbing Aramid fibers are suspended in a light weight resin formulation.

Don't have to spend 10 minutes soaking, just put it on and it plays.

This was a waste of money. It broke right away

Been using these reeds for years (line 10+). I've tried others but these are tried and true for me. I play them on my Berri and my Alto.

It’s magical. I didn’t even know how to play saxophone. I put on the reed and it all came together.

The Fibracell Premier reed is my first choice when I want to use a non-cane reed. It looks the same, feels the same and plays very much the same as a cane reed. Particularly for the extra saxes I double on when playing gigs, this allows me to pick up any horn that has been sitting for some time, even hours, and play with no warm-up. For me this would be soprano, alto and baritone since my main horn is tenor. I think the strengths run pretty much parallel with Rico standard reeds (orange box). I keep the original 'jewel case' box to carry the reeds in, always taking them off, wiping and putting them back in the box after using them. All you have to do is make sure the rubbery bead in the top closes on the 'bark' which holds the reed flat and secure. This is the way to keep the reeds playing like new for a long time, and you can also wash them every so often if you want.

Great woody sound. It is better than most synthetic reeds. That is said with the caveat that horns, mouthpieces and reeds don't all play well together. Small size, width and height can be a problem with some mouthpieces and ligature combinations.

Fibracell feels like a cane reed, plays like a good cane reed. Not as good as the best canes, but it's great to be able to grab a reed and know it'll play. The sound has a bit more edge than cane but you can still get a nice sound by adjusting reed and ligerature placement. They also last a long time. Need to order 1/2 to 1 strength higher than cane.

I love the Fibracell synthetic reeds! I use them on my alto, tenor, and bari saxes. They're much nicer than the clear plastic synthetics that other brands sell. Fibracell feels (and sounds) like you're playing a real wooden reed! They just play a lot more easily and last a lot longer. I will definitely continue to purchase these for my saxophones!
