Purchased these to lock firearms so no one unauthorized could use them. The firearms came with similar locks except they were key operated. (With my luck, I would lose the key.) I am much better at remembering numbers.

This lock works great. The only thing I don't like about it is the cable is a bit long, it hangs over my rifle and I'm afraid it's gonna scratch up the rifle. So I decided to return it and got a trigger lock instead. Besides that, it's a solid lock. I have one for my pistol but for my rifle I'm gonna go with the trigger lock instead.

I've had to cut all three off my pistols due to a failure of the combo. They worked for about a week, then the combination portion of the lock quit working. It was the same issue on all three locks. On one of the locks, I set the pin, locked and unlocked the combo, thought I was good, then the button that unlocks the cable jammed and wouldn't come loose. Then had to cut the cable after messing with the lock for 30 min or so. Sorry, can't recommend you buy this. I went with a different trigger lock that works.

No keys to worry about!!! It's nice to be able to set (then reset) the combination and not have to worry about keeping track of where the keys are anytime you need them.

OK, poor title pun, :-) ... However, these locks are EXCELLENT. All (3) locks programmed to my customized combination like a charm. They seem the perfect product for CA law concerning traveling and transporting guns to and from a gun range while in my gun bag. I have at least 5 other gun locks BUT having them keyed differently is becoming impracticable. The directions in setting a new combination couldn't be simpler.

Worked well, good quality. Did not receive any instructions, but was fairly easy to figure out on my own.I did contact the owner, but no response. as of today.
