Although I'am not sure it's wrought iron, it doesn't matter to me for it fits my needs well. It's nice to look at and will be used inside. Wrought iron resist corrosion better than steel and if it was to be exposed to the weather outside , it would than matter.

This poker is study and attractive, and is short enough for my small firebox wood burner. It takes up less space and hangs nicely on my wood holder.

This is not the kind of cast iron I am familiar with - when I received it the black coating was chipped and flaking off to reveal a silver metal below. I guess you get what you pay for.

Our original one from our fireplace set broke. This one fit on hanger perfectly and much better quality. Little pricey but solid iron. WillLast forever
