It was a good value for cost, but is too wide to properly fit under the shingles, resulting in elevating the shingles off the roof at the edge. Will have to consider other options in the spring.

I have installed this type of gutter guard before. They feel real solid when you get them screwed in. Having two drills really helped speed up the install. One to pre-drill for the little bolts and the other with a nut driver. A pair of duckbill pliers helps bend the end over to give it a nice clean look. I have seen them handle a pretty heavy rain.

I needed gutter guards because of all the Maple trees near my house, but I couldn't believe how much a contractor wanted for my total of 45 feet of gutters! I saw these affordable do-it-yourself gutter guards on Amazon and gave them a try. They're the right shape and are a good thickness with perfect size holes. They are pretty easy to install with the stainless steel screws (included), you just need a pair of tin snips to trim and a cordless drill. I needed the "slip under the shingle" type, but I'm sure the other style guards from this company are the same. They work great and saved me hundreds.

I first bought a different gutter leaf guard that used aluminum rails with stainless steel wire mesh between the rails. They were not so easy to slip under the edge of the composite shingles, but with some work I was able to get it done. I then saw these leaf guards that have a smooth thin edge that were much easier to slip under the composite shingles and they are all aluminum which I think will be more durable long term. I also could get a dark color that more closely matches the color of my gutters. A small thing, but the Flowguard covers came with pre-drilled holes that made the attachment with screws go a little faster and the all aluminum was easier to cut in around corners.

Easy to install, works so well and far less expensive than hiring a company to install. Keeps leaves and other debris out and water flowing correctly off the roof.

Could be stronger material

They work. I slid them under my roofing material and attached them as directed. My gutters are no longer full of debris and I’m wondering why I waited so many years and dragged the ladder out three times a year when 3 hours of work could’ve kept me from ever cleaning them again. I like these guards. They are durable and easy to trim to fit. I would buy them again because they do exactly what they are supposed to.

Easy to install, nice and wide, so it fits easily under the shingles
