The original press fit eyelets will eventually wear out and begin to loosen up the rear suspension. The squeeking, creaking, and knocks that result will simply make the rear of the bike less effective.These newer type bushings replace the pressfit sleeve and incorporate a thru-axle type design that is quiet, smooth, and very positive helping the rear shock do the work it is designed to do.
