This quilter's frame is adjustable in so many ways, it allows me to sit in my favorite rocking chair and quilt comfortably. I have had other stationary frames that did not work with my rocking chair so I had to sit in a straight back chair. This one allows me to be comfortable while I work!!! Best Christmas present I ever bought myself, just sorry I waited so long to get it! All the pieces are hardwood, it is easy to assemble, and the adjustment knobs are easy to adjust. I primarily use for quilting, and it is not uncommon to do king size. I love it!

This frame makes quilting a large quilt so relaxing. It can be lowered or raised and rotated right and left. it is a little unsteady as it is very light; but all in all a great buy.

I've been quilting on a large ( 4 x 8 ft ) frame for 40 years. I moved into a small apartment and thought my hand quilting days were over. I saw this on line and thought at that price I couldn't expect much. When it came and I put it together ( took about 30 minutes ) I was amazed! The frame bends in 3 places, so I can sit back in my easy chair and pull it into my lap and quilt. It is so sturdy and well made, I'm sure it will last a long time. So glad I found this product.

This was easy to put together by myself, with clear instructions and diagrams, and no missing pieces. I usually say one or two swear words doing these kinds of things, but I could have assembled this in church. I am just starting to stitch with it, but I think I’m going to love it- pivots & swivels nicely, and adjustment is easy with the thumb knobs. I like that it was made in the USA. EDIT: After a week of daily use, I could no longer tighten the extension piece- the bolt that was pre-installed has come out and will not tighten, meaning I can’t adjust and hold the position of hoop- it just wobbles all over. Sad, because it had been working beautifully.

I have been hand quilting for two decades now and love it, especially in the winter. But this is my first free-standing hoop. Why did it take me so long to find something SO AMAZING? It is a total life-saver. I mean that. I have twin pre-teens doing virtual school during a pandemic. So I needed something to do that was quiet during the day so I didn't disturb their classes but that would allow me to de-stress (because man, is this stuff crazy). This was the perfect thing! I can hoop up my cathedral window I am working on and WALK AWAY from it whenever I want, easily finding my place when I return! That is a total game changer! No more "wait until I finish this thread" moments!Additionally, I can swivel it any way I want! Full range of motion with the piece hooped, no need to take it apart to adjust. It is those extra hands I have needed for so very long! If only they could make one of these for pandemic virtual school parenting! :)Also, it takes up so little space that I can comfortably keep it in the living room and use it while I watch TV, which has resulted in so much more quilting getting done (And double the lowered stress levels... quilting AND favorite TV... with a glass of wine you get 3 times the relaxation!). I have one that I have been working on for a literal decade and I'll actually see the end of it this year at this rate! :)Long and short of it, this is an amazing device for any hand quilter, hand embroiderer, or any other thing that can be stretched over a frame to work on it. You can actually attach different hoops to the same stand and use it both standing and sitting. It is AMAZINGLY versatile and strong for something so simple.Could you make it yourself? Yep, if you had a great woodshop at your disposal, but why bother for this price? Honestly, I couldn't buy the wood and fittings along with the time it would take to make it for the price Amazon is asking. If you are THINKING this is what you might want, then it IS. I love this hoop and they can pry it from my cold, dead hands. :)

I am new to hand quilting and began practicing with a 14" hoop. After months I took a lesson in hand quilting, and realized that the instruction to have the needle gently hit the top of my fingernail then tilt the nail to let the needle slide back into the fabric, led to a damaged nail. This showed the value of using the quilting spoon, but it was obvious I could not use it without a quilt stand. I was unwilling to pay $300 + since I do not know how much hand quilting I will do in the future. The description and reviews suggested this Edmunds quilt stand was better than others. It is made of wood, not plastic, and the quilt top is firmly held in the hoop. The stand does work well, tilting where I want it. I am using the spoon regularly, saving my nails, and am working on small stitches. The stand fits easily under chairs to bring it close to the body. It is adjustable, but I do find it gradually sinks, and I have to loosen and retighten to get it to the desired level. Easy. I have discovered that some of my practice quilt patterns don't work well on a stand at all and will avoid them. I quilt daily, without the stand I could not do it (and still have nails). I can collapse it easily to take on my winter drive to the south. The quilt stand and the price please me; the stand arrived before the estimated arrival date and was simple for me to put together without any help from my husband. I recommend it.
