The plug is wired backwards so if you plug it into a properly wired power source WITHOUT the adapter you WILL smoke it.A properly wired SAE power SOURCE has the negative post(male) exposed and the positive socket encased in rubber(female). That way, the connector won't short out to the frame if a device isn't plugged in or the cap isn't on.A properly wired SAE connector on the DEVICE has the negative encased in rubber and the positive side exposed because it doesn't matter if it hits the frame when it's unplugged.These are wired backwards.This public service announcement was brought to you but The Exhausted Consumers Association: Sofa King Tired of buying crap.

If you don’t want to mount a phone charger on your bike and have a SD trickle charger then this plugs right into it. Charge whatever you want.
