Although these are not a medical device, I purchased them to help deal with peripheral neuropathy. My feet feel cold constantly even when they're not, so these are nice to wear around the house. I would suggest the company upgrades the batteries, there's no reason a battery of this size can't have more mAH. Also USB-C charging would be ideal.

The GERBING 7V Ultimate Wool Heated Socks arrive with instructions, a large nylon zippered wash bag, two removable 7.4V battery packs, and a single power cord with dual charging ports to simultaneously charge the removable batteries. The socks have an outer pocket at the top outer calf area where the batteries plug into the sock adapter and then store inside the pocket which is secured with a single snap closure. Located on the outer bottom of the pocket is the temperature control button. Press and hold three seconds to power on/off. You’ll then press the button anywhere from one to three times to see an LED light up for each of the desired heat settings: red=high, white=medium, and blue=low.Instructions advise that the battery power always be maintained at no less than 25% battery capacity or the battery will have a shorter life span as well as performance issues. Additionally, the battery must be disconnected when not in use because the battery will continue to drain while plugged in even if the socks are not on.So, the washing bag… The washing bag leads one to believe that these socks are machine washable. They are, in fact, NOT washable at all. They are SPOT CLEAN ONLY. Before spot cleaning, you are advised to remove batteries and secure the sock’s built-in cords inside the pockets with the pocket snapped closed. These socks cannot be scrubbed. You cannot use powder detergent or fabric softener. Use mild liquid detergent only. They cannot be dry cleaned nor can they be placed into a dryer. Additionally, you cannot wear these socks with any type of footware. They are not to be worn with anything covering them due to risk of burns! They are advertised for outdoor, skiing, hiking, etc. I don’t know about you guys, but I haven’t ever tried attaching a ski directly to a sock without a boot!I take issue with socks that are advertised for working outdoors, skiing, motorcycle riding, and hiking, yet can’t ever be worn with a shoe and furthermore can’t ever be washed. Seriously… Why include a garment washing bag if the socks can’t even be washed. There is an over abundance of misleading advertising in this ad. Is the sock safe to wear with a shoe to perform all these outdoor activities or is it not?!As for warmth, the heat elements of the socks are solely in the very bottom of the sock. There’s no heat in any other area of the socks except the very bottom of the foot. The advertisement states that the bottom AND top of the foot are heated but goes on later to contradict and say the heat elements are in the footpad (bottom only) of the sock. On top of that, they hardly produce heat even on the highest level and you are advised in the instruction warnings to not have them on high for more than five minutes. For nearly $200, I’m more than sorely disappointed in the actual lack of heat produced by the socks and the fact that they aren’t to be worn with anything over them. I’m literally quite disgusted with the abundance of misleading advertising. The advertisement advises you of something entirely different than the actual instructions do upon arrival of the socks.Don’t waste your money on these failed socks that don’t produce much heat, only produce that little bit of heat on the very bottom of the foot, can’t be worn with anything over them and can never be washed. Gross!

But…I ended up sending them back. The left sock was fine, the right sock, I could feel every wire and that was before I put a boot on! Extremely uncomfortable-no way could I have walked around like that all day. Also, I could hardly tell the difference between the 3 heat levels. I currently own a pair of their heated gloves and love them, unfortunately I can’t say the same about the socks.

Fantastic heated socks! Stays warm for eight hours. These socks are great for any outdoor adventure, work or play! My plan is to use these for skiing in Canada. No more cold feet! They also come with a wash bag.

Get chilly feet or live somewhere cold?Get 'em!They're comfortable without any wires feeling like they're poking or bothering you, and comfortable enough for regular use.The heat doesnt get too hot, which is good if you have circulation problems or medical issues where a heating pad would overdo it.Theyre soft and not at all scratchy and the batteries charge quickly. One complaint I had, not worth knocking a star off for, was that it came with no charger for the batteries. I do not think it was intentional, and fortunately I had chargers capable of taking care of this already so it was no big deal.

These socks are very nice. Comfortable and well made and they work very well as they should so they are very nice to have in my gear bag, however I do think that the price is a bit steep at almost $200 dollars. I have other ones that I got at a much better price that work just as good so yes these are very nice well made comfortable and work well but the should be a little more affordable I think
