I recently got my hands on this flash, and I couldn't be happier with its performance. When it comes to indoor photography, it produces stunning results, providing just the right amount of light for that perfect shot. Whether I'm capturing portraits or capturing the ambiance of a cozy room, this flash does wonders.

Comes in a nifty bag and is bright enough to take on the sunsets I enjoy shooting with. I haven’t had much use yet but the last 3 weddings I’ve used it on it worked as it should and worked well. It’s small enough to bring along anywhere and with a decent light stand is very stable. I’m using a bigger 9’ stand so I can mount it on the godox bowens mount adapter. I use the mount so I can pair the flash with the 40” parabolic softbox.Recycle time is fast. Quality of light is great. Wireless capability is great with the Xt2 transmitter. High speed sync was flawless.Overall this is great flash for when you want to do a few creative shots keeping that sky exposed and the subject lit perfectly.

It's probably the best portable light you can get. I got two of these! Great for indoor and even outdoor in the right settings.I use these by mounting then directly to a light stand, or by holding it in my hand, or mounting it into my softbox. The fesnel is okay, honestly not the greatest quality of light as the light just seems to scatter. I prefer to have the bare bulb and have it in a soft box. But if you want the fesnel, make sure you bounce the light so the light pattern spreads out and make it more pleasing.I use this for a variety of shoots. I shot real estate with these, product photography and lifestyle/headshots.It's awesome because you can connect two together to make a more powerful strobe light with the proper adapterA con, the light stand mount is pure garbage. It doesn't stay in place. The unit will basically unscrew and move around. Pretty pointless. I don't like it and threw it out. Instead, if I need to mount it, I got a Bowens adapter

I have been using a Godox AD600, which I love, but it is quite heavy, along with 2 speedlights for Real Estate Photography. The speedlights, a Canon 580 EX ii, and a Godox TT600 worked great, but they sure knew how to eat batteries. I would typically get one house from each set of batteries on the speedlights. I shot for several hours with the AD200's and barely used any battery. I like the size, especially compared to the AD600. Don't get me wrong, the AD600 is fantastic when there are really high ceilings, or lots of dark woods, but a lot of the time it is overkill, and the AD200's work great in most homes. I shoot flambient in most of the homes I do, and the ETTL is great. I find in smaller rooms than a STU is very helpful, and the AD200's came with a tripod mount that also holds the STU's very well. The ease of use, with the Godox X1 trigger system is great. I will probably upgrade to the X2 this year to allow Bluetooth control, but in the 2 years I have been using the Godox systems I have been very happy with them.

Love my new flash, purchased it to replace my canon 600EX flash as my main softbox flash when I do outdoor photo sessions, I highly recommend this flash if it is your first Godox flash, although I could have purchased an AD200 Pro, I did not feel the small upgrades were worth the big price jump. I am happy with this flash as my starter flash and perhaps my next flash will be the AD200 Pro to use as the main flash and the AD200 as a hair light or secondary flash.Contrary to what I have used in the past during photo sessions and what I know about strobe flashes and steady bare bulb light setups, this Godox flash has a model light, but it is not used with the bare bulb as I am used to, instead, the strobe flash uses the model light and not the bare bulb, not a deal-breaker but something different I was not expecting as all the bare bulb flashes I've used for wedding photography in the past had an integrated model light filament surrounding the flash filament of the bare bulb. One thing that is not advertised that I was pleasantly surprised is that it has a treaded external connector for a trigger on the side, meaning, although it is recommended you purchase a Godox trigger for your camera to sync directly to the AD200, I purchased the Godox XPro-C E-TTL so I can control everything directly from the trigger on the camera without messing with the menus of the flash, you can use your own triggers like a pocket wizard or in my case a Yongnuo 622C TTL Flash Trigger I was using previously with my studio flashes when doing indoor photo sessions and my 600Ex when I did outdoor sessions, if you already have triggers for other flashes, it is easy to integrate and use those flashes in conjunction with the AD200 if you wanted, albeit without the control you would have with a Godox trigger.Highly recommend this flash!

I've used Godox for years, and always found their units dependable. The AD200 is so versatile, and easy to combine with a second unit. I've almost completely stopped using speed lights, and rarely use studio lights now. I have 4 of these AD200s, and I rarely need anything else. The lithium cells can many hours. Even on a long shoot (9 hours) the batteries kept up the entire day. These are now my go-to strobes.I also have gotten several of the optional heads, which make a big difference in flexibility for lighting options. The speed light head is great, and works nicely with barn doors for accent, but I use the flash tube most often, in a softbox. The mini-softbox head is also good for a separator. Just can't say enough about how versatile this system is.Hey Godox, if you're paying attention to this, good job!

You don’t get better value. Excellent performance in a small package. Comes with all you need except a trigger for your system. The carry case doesn’t have a handle but protects everything well. This has been round the world with me on a number of shoots and not had a problem at all. Battery also lasts an age.I personally use it with a Bowen’s adapter and a westcott octa and a beauty dish and get great results.

These are the third model of flash unit I have sourced from Godox. Like the AD360 and AD600 units before them, they offer high value technical innovations at very reasonable cost. My other Godox systems have proven reliable in use across two years, and I am expecting th same performance from the AD200s. Shot to shot colour consistency is within acceptable margins at the lower output levels I tend to use. I haven't checked above half power, yet. The battery is surprisingly good. I shot 600 frames, yesterday, between 1/128th and 1/64th power output, and the battery reported one third of its power remained available. I have two units, with one as a back up, and I shall buy extra batteries as these become available. If the AD200 units prove as reliable as the other Godox products, they'll become a classic, due to their brilliant portability and flexibility, combined with their excellent price point. If you already own Godox kit, the 200s offer even more economy by allowing the use of your existing modifiers and triggers. TTL and HSS work simply and reliably, using the X1 triggers, although HSS isn't something I would turn to the AD200 for, due to its modest poŵer output and the heat issues likely with its ultra compact design. The units are supplied in hard shell nylon cases, providing good protection. But my one niggle, here, is that the small swivel and tilt assemblies, necessary to fit the heads to stands, seem to be slotted in as an afterthought, with the potential to rattle around and strike the Pyrex dome of the bare-bulb. I have removed the swivel assemblies, and now keep them with the small lighting stands in a separate bag. All in all, the AD200 seems to be as good as I'd hoped. If it stands up to use, I will buy a third unit. My very first flash head was a clunky 200 watt seconds monolite, bought in 1981, for about the same price as the AD200, and still in working order. It is huge and inflexible, compared to anything in the Godox ranges. We've come a long way. Respect to Godox and their innovative design team.

I purchased this AD200 from Emgreat-CA and can say it works awesome and is super portable and powerfuil! The shipping was amazingly fast and I had it within a couple days. The Godox 360 modifiers and soft box work with it as well. An excellent stand alone as well as a great addition to The Godox XT Series of radio transmission strobes and flashes. While they are compatible with Canon, Nikon and Sony, for Sony shooters like myself, they are unbeatable for the price for what you get for power with wireless HSS and TTL. Couldn't be happier with the XT series! This (as well as their other XT strobes like the AD600) will accept TTL and HSS radio wireless transmissions from any one of the XT transmitters whether it's Canon, Nikon, or Sony. The XT transmitters are reasonably priced (under 100.00), and if you change from Canon to Sony for example, you only need to change out the transmitter, all your existing XT strobes will work with your new camera brand, meaning you don't have to change out all your strobes as well! It can also be triggered by the Godox speedlights that have the X wireless system as well when they are set to master mode.I would highly recommend the Godox AD200!

I originally posted a 5star review for this flash but having now used it on a professional job I am reducing it to 3stars.I'm a big Godox fan, TT600, TT685, AD-360 and AD600 but so far the AD200 has been a bit of let down. It has a rich feature set but failed on my first job, I had an issue where from cold use it would only fire one HSS flash but would beep immediately as if it were recharged and then not fire for another 10 seconds. This gives me major concerns regarding overheating and how much you can push this device when using HSS.I'm also not a big fan of the ergonomics, everything is at the bottom of the flash and there is jog wheel which isn't the greatest, also the LCD screen is difficult to see at the best of times and almost impossible in daylight. For now I'm going to stick with the AD360-ii as it seems more reliable, the AD200 wasn't the magic bullet i hoped it was going to be.
