These ground anchors are welded the entire length of the spiral along one side only. I asked a buddy who is a welder and he said that would suffice and it did. Got them started into the ground with supplied tools, but had to switch to a rachet to get more torque on them. It will be more difficult to install them into dry cold ground. l waited for the snow to melt and the ground to warm up. Don't try to insert the anchors with the ring buckles attached, they probably will snap off if you do, as a another reviewer stated. Install the ring buckles after you have fully inserted the anchors.

I love the installation kit that came with this set of stakes. They are not messing around. There's a solid weld on the spiral and it is long enough into the dirt that the ties you have the stakes tied to will break before these come out of the ground.

Like one person commented on, if you use a drill to install these they just dig a hole in the ground. So I used the included T handle to start the installation until the augur portion was below ground then I used the electric drill to put the further into the ground until it stopped, then I used a large breaker bar to install the anchor down to the surface. I was able to use ratchet straps to tightly secure the shed. The shed withheld 50 mph winds with gusts to 70 mph and the anchors stayed in place.
