First things first, my safe arrived with a huge problem…it would not open. I followed the instructions for installing the batteries and used the default code. I could hear the lock disengaging but the drawer did not open. I tried again and again with the same result. I tried using the included keys, nada. I then noticed the face of the drawer was slightly jammed up against the lower left corner of the main box. I grabbed a small pry and attempted to gently lift the wedged corner while unlocking the safe and it started to slightly move out. I continued this process until the drawer was pulled out about 3/4”, just enough to shine a light down inside the unit and that’s when I saw it. There was a hand screw wedged in the drawer track and this was preventing the drawer from opening. After several minutes of finessing the screw while prying against the drawer, I was able to free the screw which fell back into the cavity of the safe. Now the drawer was free to slide open!! However, the screw was still loose inside the safe. Keeping the drawer halfway opened I shimmied and shook the screw out, careful not to lodge it in the track once again. What a pain in butt that was. Turns out, that screw was installed on the inside of the safe to keep the wall mount bracket attached to the safe during transport. It likely backed out due to the vibrations during travel (or it wasn’t tightened enough prior to packaging). Now that it’s working, I like it. A successful code entry triggers an immediate drawer release. A successful biometric read triggers an immediate drawer release but it does take 1.5-2 seconds to read my fingerprint. Battery life seems great so far with full bars after a month of daily usage (I test it throughout the day since it’s in close proximity of where I work). The opening sound is pretty loud in a quiet environment, like in the middle of the night. This could be good in that it could deter an intruder when they hear the sound of the safe opening. It could also be bad as it could startle an intruder which could lead to panicked actions. The box itself is relatively sturdy BUT one could rip it open with a pry and hammer—I don’t expect this safe to keep my firearm out of the hands of someone who has access, tools, and time. It’s fairly heavy but has no problem being installed on the side of my self-assembled wood desk. Installation was simple and level. The last notable piece is the insert. I’m using the safe for a compact and it fits well and accommodates an extra magazine. You will need to “custom fit” the lining for your particular firearm. I used an hobby knife to cut away at the padded insert until the fit was close to perfect. The poopy part about this is that once it’s “custom fit”, that’s it. It will likely fit other firearms of a similar size but maybe not. YMMVAll in all, it’s accommodating, offers multiple opening options, opens relatively quick, is very loud, holds a great charge, requires some cutting to fit, and may arrive jammed shut.

The design is sleek and matches my existing furniture perfectly. I installed the gun safe on my nightstand next to my bed. This nightstand is not only a great addition to my bedroom but also provides a secure place to store my firearm. The sliding door pistol safe is well built and seems to work as advertised, I have not found anything to dislike about it. I am surprised by how simple the product is to operate. I was worried to program the fingerprint safe. Feel free about that, it was a piece of cake. I have set up fingerprints and the code. When I use the fingerprint lock, the gun safe opens quickly, allowing me to swiftly retrieve our firearms in case of emergencies. I love that it has multiple secure options for getting into the safe. I don't have to worry about losing keys. Additionally, this gun case can keep children away from firearms, preventing accidents from happening.Tip: Remember to register the same finger numerous times to ensure it works in an emergency.
