Because most stands of similar design are considerably more expensive, I was expecting these to be of inferior build quality & sturdiness. Not in the least. Very solid material and build, very sturdy for rather heavy active studio monitors. Excellent adjustability. Very pleased with this purchase.

These are excellent stands! Had purchased one pair and found the quality to be awesome! Very light weight and strong. Bought a second set to be used also for my surround sound set up, four stands total. The price is adequate for what you receive. Had bought a third set to use for other things, like a humidifier or a plant, as these are excellent stands! You won't be disappointed and I highly recommend!! Very easy to adjust with many height levels to choose. Has a locking mechanism to assure no slippage when raising and lowering. May you find them to be very helpful and easy to use as well.

I'm using inside for a pair of Alesis MKII studio monitors. I wanted something stable, and easy to move around inside. They're easy to assemble and a good size for a small speaker box. (11"H x 9"D x 7"W, give or take) They could support larger, and I bought them with that in mind for the future. The tripod style bases are stable. Great value for $50.

These monitor stands are functional, professional, and look good. The short, three-foot (on the floor) design is nice if you are in a crowded area with other equipment, or have limited space where a solid square foot would limit placement of the stand. There is a tradeoff for the design.Near-field monitors are just that, near. They must be equidistantly placed from the listener, and this might be challenging. Having a limited footprint is exactly why I purchased a set. But beware - a smaller foorprint means less stability. A three-foot design is the least stable of all. The smaller the feet, the less stable they are. You must be very careful when assessing how you will place the monitor, the direction of the monitor, and the placement of the feet relative to all. The spec for weight is, as many have pointed out, quite rediculous. I would never place 99 lbs on these stands. My Neumann's are about 20, and I would not go any higher. If you recall geometry, you should remember what a moment-arm is, and the different classes of levers. These concepts apply directly to monitor stands. Be very careful to place the stands where they will not be bumped by anyone. My only recommendation for design improvement would consist of longer feet, maybe 3 inches, and one more foot. That would improve stability. I don't ever want to see my monitors on the floor.Other that the max weight spec and potential for instability, they are great. They fit my requirements perfectly and have the second set on order.

Was looking for speaker stands for my Shinola Bookshelf speaker pair that are 17 pounds each. Reading the specs for these and how they were height adjustable had me intrigued. The top shelf measured almost exactly the size of the base of my speakers which would help with stability. So I ordered and just set them up. Just perfect for my application. Very impressed with the heft, design and build quality. Pictures do not do these justice. Assembly was very easy. The 3 legged base is one piece and easy to attach with the supplied hardware. The main column is all assembled and the height adjustment with locking pin is very easy to adjust to the height you want and you can lock in place with confidence. The plastic “cable management” loop broke when I tried inserting it in the bottom of the column. Not a biggie consider all the pluses I share. For the price these are a steal!

I love these stands and intend to buy another pair next month. I was initially stumped by the instructions which seem to be written for a version that was packaged differently. There is no need to enlarge the hole in the speaker platform (shelf) on my units as some have reported. The whole thing (1 stand) goes together in under 5 minutes including unboxing. There were a couple of twist handles in the hardware kit which have no use. The plastic wire clamp once inserted in the base cannot be removed without destroying it, so I'm holding off on it's use. The only things in the hardware kit that I used was the Allen wrench and the washers. On the inside of the bottom and top of the poles there are screws that you remove. You then place either the tripod leg or the shelf as appropriate. Then attach it with the screw you removed together with one of the washers. If I have any problem with these loosening, I may replace them with lock washers. Also note that there is a pressure plate inside the top of the pole for the adjustable height 'lock' which you should examine to understand. The stand is extremely sturdy and stable. I would be comfortable using it for any bookshelf speaker. Two rubber pads 2 5/16" x 9 3/16" are provided for each speaker which provide a slip resistant surface IF STUCK to the bottom of your speaker or acoustic foam. The shelf has no tilt adjustment, so if you want to redirect your sound up or down you'll have to use foam. If used in a public place I'd want to secure the speakers loosely (to not smother the acoustics) but securely to the shelf. There is no provision for running the wires inside the pole, which is impractical anyway in my setup with XLR and power for Active speakers. Overall the setup is fairly self explanatory, and the product is excellent, so I don’t detract any stars.
