Hayden Automotive fan clutches are manufactured to ensure performance and durability. Hayden offers thermal and non-thermal clutches as well as well as standard, heavy-duty and severe duty models that meet strict factory guidelines. It is used with lighter pitched fans. They are identified by a smooth steel faceplate and thermal spring assembly on the front side.

i almost went with twin electric fans glad i didn't this clutch did the trick on the ole 1970 454 i already had the high-volume aluminum water pump and big thick aluminum radiator 180 thermostat. the temp would start climbing at extra-long red lights and traffic was just a pain in the ars. soon as she started rolling temp would come right down very quickly. had it out last weekend and got caught in the worst traffic ever and to my amazement that temp gauge never moved. Very happy with this clutch fan & yes i would recommend it on any big block i live in FL. too

I purchased a open package fan clutch the photo shows bolts and s bushing with the clutch. The bushing was missing from the package I will have to make one for it to center properly on the water pump

This is a common non-factory replacement for the stock AMC 360 fan clutch, sometimes called a HD fan upgrade.It comes with lock rings and a brass bushing that fits the guide pin on the pulley, also confirming that it fits a stock fan and the pulley bolt pattern perfectly. I'm running a stock radiator and have about 2" clearance between the back of the clutch and the radiator itself.It's a relatively inexpensive upgrade to keep our old rigs cool and is plug and play out of the box!One thing to note: I've heard that Hayden has shipped some without the slots in the base as pictured; mine had the slots, as these are needed to fit up to the bolt holes on the pulley. If you order one of these and it doesn't have those slots (and has just holes in the base instead), you'll have to "make" your own slots.

I installed this in a 1984 Jeep Cj7 with a 360 v8. Installed easy and spins at 80% engine speed most of the time to save fuel and for noise reduction. Haven’t actually heard it “clutch up” yet because the motor stays really cool with a shroud and 7 blade fan from a Wagoneer. When I need more cooling I’m sure it will clutch up and produce more cooling.

This clutch works great with my 1966 Mustang with SBF V8 302 and . I have the stock steel shroud and this combo leaves 3/4" clearance between shroud and blade tips. Compared with the stock HiPo 4-blade fan w/o clutch, this clutch/fan combo dropped my idle temps approx 10F. I have a copper, 3-row radiator and this clutch/fan combo places the fan 1/2 in and 1/2 out of the shroud, which is the optimal placement, and the clutch sits about 1" from my radiator. There's a noticeable fan noise when accelerating but it's not annoying or too loud.
