Saved a bundle by replacing myself vs. paying the pool guys! Took about 10 minutes including opening the cover on the heater. Pretty sure anyone could manage it. We’ll packaged and easy to read instructions.

Part came in a Hayward box, replaced in 30 min to repair a malfunction board in a less than one year old heater. Hopefully, this one will last longer.

This is the third board for our Hayward heater and only in the second season of use. It seems like these are most common failure for Hayward pool/spa heaters. This one fixed AO trouble code. The other fixed SF trouble code.

So I can't completely blame the PCBA (board), but this is the 3rd one I have had to order for my Hayward heater over 10 years and 2 in the last 9 months due to critters crawling underneath it and shorting out components. Each time there has been scorched items on the bottom and one time a fried lizard. The board is easy enough to replace and the shipping from AMZN was overnight, so that was good, but be aware there are two version of this board (FDXLICB1930 and FDXLICB1930 FD). This version (FD) has a 3-pin connector for SPA/Pool selection where the non-FD version has a wire screw clamp connection. Check which one you need to avoid some frustration.

I was getting a CE error on my Hayward heater and after trying other fix options realized it was the control board, the price was a little high but I was able to purchase this board. The installation is not too difficult but take a picture of the wiring locations before you remove the old board. When you remove the old board the plastic pegs holding the old board in may not come off with a pair of needle nose pliers like suggested, in removing it is way easier to just cut or twist them off and break them, the board comes with 4 new clips to replace the ones you destroy...after installation the heater fired right up and worked normally. I would suggest this board to clear a CE error on your heater

I have now installed two boards and both were faulty, resulting in a "bd" error code. My pool tech uses his test board, which is an older version of this same board, and the heater works fine. I am going to try one more time from a different reseller, otherwise, I will have to purchase a new heater...it will not be a Hayward model.

Heater was only two years old but when tried to fire it up for the season I got an SF (sensor fault) error. Checked the temperature sensor per the Hayward service manual and it checked good. Replaced the board and everything worked as it should. The replacement board came with a new blower sensor switch but it wasn't needed. Easy to install, just watch where the single red and gray wires were attached to the old board. All the other wires have plugs that are all different so you can't plug them into the wrong places. Entire replacement time from start to finish was about 10 minutes. Only tools required was a Phillips screwdriver to remove the service panel from the heater and a pair of needle nose pliers to pinch the plastic retaining clips to release the old board.

Coupled with the display board, heater is now as good as new. Easy to install.Saved us a bundle of money. Heating company wanted to either sell us a whole new heater or repair this one for $1200.00.Pool company would sell us parts only for $800.00.We are extremely happy. Both products were very easy to install.Service from Amazon was excellent. These two parts go together so both reviews are the same.

Impressed with the ICD, worked well to clear the HF code. Thanks for the other reviews, gave me confidence to install this myself, I labelled each of the wires and got it done. So many wires, would have made a mistake if I did not label them.So happy with my buy and impressed with myself. Thanks

Our Hayward 400FDN model heater started giving "HF" and then "PF" error codes. We thought it was a faulty gas valve, as my husband read online that typically you'll get the "HF" error when the valve is bad. The heater would eventually kick on from time to time, but after a few weeks, we could no longer get the heater to work. We called a pool repair company to give us an estimate to repair. We were told that it could be the circuit board and that the part would cost $700 with an additional $200 in labor. However, the technician stated that he could not guarantee a fix even after charging us $900. He proceeded to recommend an entirely new unit for nearly $3000 (shocker, huh?!). We said we needed to think about it, as the heater is approximately 10 years old. However, we weren't keen on spending the $3,000 to replace the entire unit. We, instead, decided to try our luck at purchasing what we were told was a $700 part, by looking for the part on Amazon. We purchased this part for $179! I realize that pool repair companies need to mark-up parts, but we needed to draw the line at a 300% mark-up. It was incredibly easy to install, and now our heater is working just fine! Previous posts recommend labeling the wires when removing the old board, and I would highly recommend it also, as there are many wires and limited space to work with. Start-to-finish, the project took about 20 minutes. Well worth saving over $700 by doing it ourselves.
