I built and hung a 6' long x 4' high gate by myself. It weighs approximately 70 pounds. It is solid, square and level. I took my time and measured at least twice and cut once. Easy and straight forward. I have 4 more to build and am confident all will go well. Because of length, and location I shall anchor hang post to ground with cable and turnbuckle. Just a precaution for over time.

This kit was perfect for my gates to my back yard. They are high quality and were quite easy to install. I need another gate in the front of my yard and will definitely be using this kit again. The gates are strong and secure. Remember, measure twice, cut once...

Just installed yesterday. Went together perfectly. Seems to be well-made, but maybe a little light duty for a heavy gate, say, with a lot of wood slats or with a wider span. I'll know more when I see how it performs over time, but well worth the expense and ease of fabricating the gate.

Sturdiness, easy insulation, was the perfect idea and product to help us build our fence!

I love the idea of this. It's brilliant. Super straightforward and loved building my own gate. However the screws that accompany this are low quality, one head broke off on installation and I am sure I will be taking this gate apart to redo with new screws when they don't hold long term, which is disappointing.

Simple gate kit with hinges attached to braces.Doesn't have instructions but it's pretty intuitive. Think it over or watch videos. For those complaining about sag -- corner brackets don't prevent a gate from sagging! You need to brace it diagonally from the bottom hinge to the opposite corner. Use more wood, or some braided wire and a turnbickle. Also, it's important to predrill holes with this gate. Some of the screws are placed near the edges of the board, so if you don't predrill the wood will split.

Found the gate using this kit, preferable to a separate gate kit from a box store

This is an extremely sturdy and well designed kit. If you need to make a gate, buy it.However, the reason it's 4 out of 5 stars instead of the full 5, it's because of a gap in instructions. There was't a set of paper steps in the kit. There are some great videos for a high level assembly overview, but these don't detail how to measure your material for the frame. These also don't offer the suggestion for how to space the actual gate (privacy) material. Because the family members tasked to assemble the gate had to go back and forth between the device to view videos and the location of the gate, they also got an erroneous idea about how to use the hinge plates. In part, this was an issue of the size of the posts/attaching material (6+" in depth) and they were trying to address installation of the latching mechanism.Because I think like an engineer, I'd periodically go out to check on progress and make suggestions and the resulting gate is supremely stellar. Again, GREAT and sturdy kit. Instructions need to be included or offer greater clarity on the videos.

I had to add two gates to our fence due to deer destroying our back yard and had procrastinated building the gates as they always seem to sag after a while. I was a little skeptical at first after watching videos of people building gates with these but too the leap and wow, it is super easy and they are amazingly sturdy. One of my gates is 48" wide and the other is 36". They took less than a half hour each to build and hang. I did mount them on the post before adding the fence boards to minimize the weight. I measured the width of my openings and found the narrowest measurement and then cut the top and bottom rails 1" smaller than the measured width and they fit perfectly. Super happy with the results.
