Heavy duty, as advertised. Works automatically. Self- locking is the best feature. Average handy person can install it. I am using it on a heavy wooden gate. Best feature is that you can put a lock on it.

Used this to replace the bog-standard gravity latch, that didn't half the time. This is a good solid design. Second house I've equiped with this latch. Combined with a spring closer on the gate itself it closes with a good positive 'thunk'. No more escapee dogs!The paint is a good thick finish, probably powder coated, which is essential on the NW coast since the salt air just loves to rust bare steel.
