High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is used in many different applications in both automotive and non-automotive pieces. It has a waxy feel, like low density polyethylene, but is stiffer and less flexible. You can find HDPE in fender liners, windshield washer bottles, and overflow tanks in automotive applications. In non-automotive applications, HDPE is used for ATV fenders, gas tanks, kayaks, canoes, playground equipment, and more.

I used a hot air gone and a wood burning tool. Ended up having to cover the repair with duct tape and give up. It sure is the right product, and the price is right, perhaps needs to come with the melting tool.
