If you use the shutoff valve every time next start up is a non event ! Keeps carbs from getting gummed up with the sorry gas we have now.. Use high test gas and use the shut off valve . Easy to install.

Push mower leaks fuel when not in use. These replace an old valve that was cracked and very difficult to turn. Easy swap out and effectively shuts off gas to the carb.

I installed these in the fuel lines to close them off to kill the engine for winter storage.I run the engine dry and no more fuel in the carb.

These are great, I install them on all my small engines to prevent gravity from pressurizing the carburator when not in use. Stops from having fuel leaks past the shut off valve.

I installed these on several of my machines, including my garden tractor and my chipper-shredder. There are common carburetor failure modes that can allow fuel to run into the engine and into the oil, creating mayhem. It's always good to be able to prevent that by shutting off the fuel between uses. These have gotten increasingly difficult to operate. After a year in service, it's a challenge to turn them. It requires enough force that it feels like they will break soon. That wouldn't be a big deal, because they were only a couple of bucks apiece; but changing them is not convenient. The fuel tank has to be empty, or the fuel line clamped off. The hose barbs are effective -- I've never seen any leakage -- and that means that the hose will probably have to be cut to remove them. Odds are that my hoses will then be too short, and require replacement. Live and learn! It's not a bargain when it causes that much hassle.
