Lids started falling apart shortly after purchasing. Decided to contact House Naturals after my third lid deteriorated through my orders on Amazon. Talked to Andy who informed me that they do warranty the lids and asked if I purchased them from them or someone else and to send pictures. Even though I contacted through my Amazon orders I sent a screenshot of the order and pictures of the lids. He then asked me to send the top of the lids. Through the back and forth he seemed to be trying to find any and every reason not to make it right. From trying to suggest shipping as the problem or not closing the lid tightly. By the end he informed me that they no longer use those lids. He did not say he wouldn't replace them so I asked if the newer lids would fit and if they sold them separatel or was I out of luck. He sent me the link to purchase 3 for 40 bucks and he sorry we don't deal with them anymore. Usually when someone guarantees a product they replace it with what they have now. So even though he said he makes sure his customers are 100% satisfied it became clear that he was trying to find every and any excuse to not make this right. Don't waste your money, time, and family's food supply on this product.

...the lid ring was tough to get on. Using a 32 oz. mallet did not help. I ended up using a piece of plywood and a donut pillow. That plus the weight of my backside did the trick. It would be night if the lid ring was already installed.

Got these after seeing a youtube video showing similar buckets and I have to say they are one of the best purchases I've made my family cooks a lot with flour and sugar so I use one for Flour one for Sugar and the other for Rice, lids come off easy the only problem is we had to use a rubber mallet to hammer the lids on properly but other then that no issues seal great easy access

Yes, we tried the oil and the pounding and the pushing. Brilliant husband got a piece of 3/4 inch plywood, straddled it and forcefully sat down on it. We could hear the beautiful SNAP as the ring went on. He did have to rotate the bucket and drop down forcefully several times per bucket, but he got 9 - yes, NINE buckets finished in about 10 minutes. His tail bone is a bit sore, but mission accomplished. BTW, he weighs about 165 pounds. Hope this helps!!UPDATE! We bought 3 more buckets and used the same method for getting the rings put on them. Worked just as well the second time around. All good!UPDATE! We ordered another set of 3 buckets (this is 5 or 6 times we have ordered them because we really like the product) and proceeded as usual with our method for getting those miserable rings onto the bucket. These are not working with us! There is NO WAY to get the rings onto the buckets. The manufacturer needs to install the rings prior to shipping. No two ways about it. I will order a different bucket next time. Not doing this again.

Make sure when you’re putting the ring on that doesn’t have two gaskets on it. You’ll never get it on

Alright so I figured it wouldn't be as hard as some reviews suggested however I was wrong. It took quite a bit of strength just to force it to go on. After the first one I just sat on it and still had to push down for it to snap on. We are talking 163lbs guy.With that being said its a very good seal! The rings are nice and sturdy with no plastic cracking during install. I am a bit baffled as to why they just don't pre install. Likely to save shipping costs as they stack better without the rings.Over all you have two seals. The main ring which has a rubber seal. Then the lid itself. I do like the design and it fits my needs for what I want stored. The handles work just fine with 50lbs inside the bucket.Overall 4/5
