Product description

The ACCU-ND technology in the Hoya PROND filters yields a truly neutral color balance that will not add any noticeable color-cast to your images. The Hoya PROND series is aimed at the still photography and HDSLR video markets. The Hoya Pro ND 500 Filter absorbs the light entering the lens evenly across the visible spectrum and reduces the amount of light entering the lens by up to 9 f/stops without affecting the color balance. Reducing the amount of light allows the use of wider apertures and slower shutter speeds for creative and dramatic effects. ND filters are widely used by landscape photographers who want to capture smooth, flowing waterfalls or seascapes but still retain the correct exposure throughout the whole photograph. Alternatively, ND filters can be used to reduce the depth of field and enable the use of wider apertures to ensure your subject is crisp while the background becomes a soft blur - great for portraiture. ND filters also allow cine and video cameras (which have fixed shutter speeds) to film subjects such as snow, sand or other bright scenes which would normally cause over-exposure.

Super Filter, ist neutral (kaum Farbverfälschungen), nur keine Slimversion, ist also recht dick. Dafür stabil.Auch die Vergütung ist gut.

You would have to look very closely indeed to find something to worry about with this filter. I wont be looking that closely. It has even coverage with no fringes that are obvious to me. Using it for video. I like the broad mounting ring as it gives a good grip for removal. Had trouble with a filter with a narrow mounting ring in a hot climate and had to put it in a fridge, not the freezer compartment, to loosen it.

Just Purchased a Nikon Z6, when using in conjunction Ninja V, Native N-Log ISO is 800, Thus the need for an ND filter. This is the only filter that did not break the wallet nor does it have the X issue Variable filters have. There is a shift in WB towards the cool side, but if you adjust when shooting or post, there shouldn't be a problem. Really love it. Got all new toys including a LAOWA 15mm f2 Zero D lens. ITs a perfect match all around.PS. I got the 82mm and then purchased step up rings for all my lens configurations that were smaller. Its better to do it this way also, just in case there is vignette. this process eliminates it and saves you money.

I use the ND for photo and video, I have a 6DII and for my purpose work really well, I just use L lenses and the quality of the image do not fall into pieces... Do not cast any heavy colours into the image and it's perfect to film in direct sun lights! If you want to film in shadow area, 6.6 Stops it's too much, you always have to pull up the ISO

This is by far the best lens filter I've ever used. ND64 is perfect for daylight shooting at F2.0 / 50th of a second. No colour cast at all, no vignetting, very clean results. Highly recommended.

Nice mid range filter for various uses. When used on sunsets it creates a slight vignetting effect...wish it didn't.

Very clean ND for my bmpcc with nikon lenses. Be sure to get an ir cut if you're using it with black magic cameras though. It does a better job than most with IR cut but you'll probably need more!

I bought this filter for a Nikon 200mm f/2.0 VR1. Anyone familiar with that lens knows that it uses a rear filter holder slot, and not all filters will fit (they cant be too thick or they wont slide in). This filter fits great. I ordered both the 64x and 16x. The 64x is great for cutting just enough mid-day light to overpower the sun by about 1 stop with strobes if you're using ISO 100 and 1/250th at f/2.0. The 16x is great for a very balances look or overcast days where you dont need to cut as much light.

Pricey, particularly if you need one of the larger sizes, but it seems to work fairly well so far. It has been recommended by a bunch on the forums for use with Blackmagic Cinema cameras' sensor because it cuts a fair amount of the IR light range that tends to overrun a sensor when filtering a large amount of the visible range. This helps keep the blacks in your images from becoming overly brown or red.
