Ran fast from the get-go. Noticed it ran hot when I bought it 3 years ago, Dec. 2020. Barely used it for doing school work while commuting. Started using it more in 2023.Issue #1:Noticed the laptop could not open completely, but did not force it open. Kept using it as it was.Issue #2:The right side of the monitor had a 1" vertical stripe running up and down the monitor. The black sector was unusable. Rebooting several times did not resolve the issue and made it worse-- the dead sector grew to cover more than half the screen.Issue 3: took it to Best Buy for repair. The verdict repac the monitor for $400-$500. 3 weeks later, I was informed the part was backorder and they raised the possibility that they may not be able to source the part and return it to me unfixed.If committed to buying an HP Envy laptop after research, just bear in mind that the laptop may only last a few months of use in total before it develops hardware issues. Or it may develop these issues AFTER the warranty expires.

I do love this computer. It's sturdy and works well but there are a couple things like the battery life ends quickly. Also the touch screen is a little annoying and how it works. I have never personally had another touch screen laptop to compare it to but I do like this computer.

I bought this laptop to replace my 5 year old Lenovo. I am taking online courses and need to use zoom and other apps. The sound and video are not working 90% of the time. I've run through so many fixes that I feel like I would have been better off with my 5 year old computer than this new one. The support assistant it infuriating. I called into the tech support and was told that my problem would require an upgraded service level that I can subscribe to or pay for piecemeal. I won't by an HP again.

I use a laptop for basic computer functions, surfing the net, banking, shopping online, checking email, etc. The HP Envy includes solid state performance -- boots up quickly -- no delays at all. I'm very happy with the unit and would recommend it.
