Great unit except it does not have an automatic shut down feature when no movement is sensed for a period of time.

Installation was straightforward in my Magellan RM-1700, with the valuable help of an online video via Youtube. The video showed there is a hidden screw under a label on the back of the Magellan RM-1700. It also showed how to delicately pry around the edges to separate the top and bottom of the case, as well as remove the plugs from the circuit board. Installation does require an extremely small and fine Phillips screwdriver. I used one that I had from a kit where I replaced the battery in an iPhone 5. Also, needed the plastic separation tool that came with that kit to pry open the case of the GPS after the screws are removed. It was a very tight fit and initially somewhat challenging to get loose. If you do not have such tools, you might want to consider ordering them. Replacement was otherwise easy and clearly solved my battery problem.

A perfect replacement fit in my GPS. Excellent upgrade from the 720mAh OEM battery. Installation was as easy as removal and reinstallation of 6 screws, a piece of tape, and a couple of plugged in wires. After prying off the old battery from the glue tape, I heated the area lightly and pressed in the new battery. Super easy.The price is outstanding and shipping was lightning speed. Thanks for the free gift HQRP!
