The most captivating feature is its appearance which emulates the stria of artisan clay pots. With a deep welled top (6in H x 15. 5in D), you can plant an array of floral arrangements or even a small herb or vegetable garden. The top also includes the Good Ideas original, integrated overflow channel. This channel automatically diverts all overflow water to the front of the barrel and keeps your foundation from flooding. The large opening which can be used for 2x3 or 3x4 downspouts is covered with a soft, fine mesh, plastic screen. This screen keeps out heavy debris and insects for your piece of mind. Also included with the barrel are the two, offset spigot locations. Now you can use a 5 gallon bucket or hose simultaneously without issue. Good product. Looks very nice. Well built. Problem-free delivery. Mixed feelings. We had the same problem with the screen as others reported, but we were not able to solve it the way others did. So we removed the screen, and the spout goes directly in. And yes, that has created a different set of problems with gunk settling at the base in the barrel which I now have to clean out. Also, the purpose was to help with excessive water accumulation during rainfalls. To be honest, we would need several more barrels to really make a difference. So here I am after fighting my husband on installing this. Turns out he was right, and I was wrong. But now that we sawed through the gutter downspout, I'm stuck with it and left wondering how everyone else seems to be happy.

The current product uses two brass spigots that fit into plastic fittings. The threadings don't match up well so were hard to install. Also, the older model had a collar attachment that was on top of the mesh entry point to the barrel that you could put the hose that captured water from the gutter drain. There is no collar attachment for this model. So the hose from the gutter drain doesn't have anything that it can fit into.

Looks nice and the faucets don’t leak, but the flat back bows way out when it’s full of rain. We’ve only had it a month. I worry it won’t last the summer. I’ll update after a few more months and see how it does.

Came earlier than expected. Couldn't find the spigot and instructions until I unscrewed the screen at top. Sat in my living room for 2 weeks before I found them. Would be nice if it said "spigot and instructions under screen" somewhere on outside of barrel. Looks great.

The rain barrel came today, earlier than I had thought it would. So I will give them a star for prompt delivery. However, I will not recommend this item to anyone. DO NOt Buy This! It comes with really nice brass spigots and plumber's tape. The problem is that the spigots will not screw into the nylon fittings on the ports of the barrel. Every time I try the threads get crossed. I am going to Lowes to see if I can find parts to make the spigots work. Get a different barrel because this one is a real pain!
