Worked really well and met all our expectations. It comes with a cushioned camera bag not shown on Amazon.A nice hard carry case available as an option would be a good idea.

I bought this product because it was cheaper than other brands online and let me just say how impressed I am with the quality and the price! I bought this device to check my home insulation and was pleasantly surprised with the details on the camera. I was able to locate issues with water leaks and insulation problems. Next project is to check the breakers and circuits around the house!  My first impressions wasn’t great upon receiving the product in what is essentially a plastic bag, after taking everything out and confirming the goods included, I became a little more calm seeing the thermal camera in a separate protective bag and the camera sealed in a plastic film, I assume to prevent it getting dusty or wet. After taking the camera out of the casing I can see brand new and of decent quality, no scratches or finger prints to show that its been used before. I charged it up, since its got a re-chargable battery inside, another reason I chose this model. After turning it on I quickly put it to use checking the Air con in my office and it shows the temperature of where I point it (white dot) and the coldest and hottest temperature in view (green and red dots respectively). The images are pretty clear and the device is easy to use. I can move the captured images to my PC using the provided USB cable and make reports conveniently. Price wise I would give this 5/5, design 4/5, user friendliness 5/5 ( would have been nice to have Wifi or bluetooth but I knew this before buying and price is still worth it, image quality 5/5 this is based on pricing and did not expect it to match the top end versions of thermal cameras. All in all a very decent and well priced thermal camera with some nice features. Very happy buy.

This is the first thermal camera I've ever owned. I chose it because of the low price point and decently high resolution specs compared to similarly priced named brands such as FLIR. However, after trying it out over the last few days, I've come to the conclusion that the resolution specs are unrealistically high in relation to what useful images can be obtained on it.One major problem with this camera is the high noise level of the tiny sensor (as another reviewer here pointed out). A good analogy is to compare it to the hobbyist toy telescopes sold at department stores for around $100. Those toy telescopes invariably have unrealistically high magnification claims such as “300x magnification power.” In actuality, no useful image can ever be produced at 300x by those small toy telescopes because their primary lenses are too small to gather enough light to produce a useful image at such high magnification. 80x magnification is about as high as one can realistically get on those tiny scopes while getting acceptably clear images. 80x (realistic) vs. 300x (advertising claim) is a big difference. The same principle of overly optimistic specification applies to these relatively inexpensive Chinese-made thermal cameras. If the tiny sensors were designed for a smaller resolution such as 80x60 instead of 220x160, the noise level might have been acceptable. The noisy images I get from this IR camera appear as though they are viewed through a very dirty screen door. Can I still use the images? Perhaps yes. The answer really depends on what the application is. My primary interests are detecting home energy loss and active water leak around my home and at my two rental properties. For such uses, rough, noisy images maybe totally sufficient. But, that doesn't mean the highly noisy images don't bother me.Besides the high noise level, there are a few design flaws and nags with this IR camera:1. It should have come with a built-in laser to match an area of the thermal image to the actual physical location (for example, a cold spot on a large blank wall). The camera comes with a visible image feature, but that doesn’t help much when viewing large featureless areas such as blank walls and large ceilings. Without a laser point as reference, it’s very difficult to associate the thermal images to the actual physical locations. Laser pointers are dirt cheap and it should have come with one built-in that can be easily turned on and off with a switch.2. I can’t make any sense out of the rainbow temperature scale because it’s a fixed scale and the upper and lower ends are not labelled. The rainbow slide doesn’t dynamically change based on the max and min observed temperatures within the screen. Because of these two flaws, it’s not possible to look at a color on an image and compare it to the scale in order to estimate the temperature for that particular color on the image.3. The screen is in portrait mode. I personally find landscape mode more useful for my applications.4. It has no lanyard and no way to attach one. I always worry about dropping the camera when using it.5. The instructions are abysmally terse and incomplete, which is typical of most inexpensive imported Chinese products. Eventually I was able to figure everything out by trial and error over the course of a few days. These are just my initial impressions. I’m still trying it out. I’m still undecided as to whether to keep it or return it and bite the bullet by spending over a thousand dollars to get a much nicer an entry-level pro-grade camera. As the saying goes, you can buy a properly built expensive tool once or you can buy a cheaply made inexpensive tool three times. I have a feeling if I keep this relatively cheap Chinese-made IR camera, I may well end up having to buy these IR cameras three times.

Bought the IR0018 mainly with the purpose of solving some issues regarding an HVAC problem we faced at home.I was able to locate the abnormally cold spots rather easily with the camera and have quickly found a solution with the help of an inspector, possibly saving me thousands of dollars in the process. For someone who does not have too much experience using thermal imaging cameras, the button operations are easy to use and the focus free lens measures infrared energy quickly, which makes taking pictures even quicker. With the IR0018, you get auto measurement modes which gives you reliable results on all measurement modes thanks to the fast temperature detection. This thermal camera can capture and store visual, thermal, and images with just a pull of the trigger. Whether you’re looking for a semi-professional grade thermal imaging camera that is affordable and easy to operate or you need a thermal camera that has top accuracy and measurement, I would highly recommend the IR0018.
