WORKS!

Replaced the intermittent starter on a 2013 Earthdreams 4-Cylinder Accord in late 2022. As of January 2025, it is still working fine. Find online videos to see how to replace; I recall is was fairly easy, considering it is accessed from below.

Had a Honda dealer install this in my 84 year old mother's 2015 Honda CRV to replace the original that was going bad. Would have done it myself but it is difficult to get to on these models where the engine faces backwards from how they used to face in earlier model years. This is evident by the $270 in labor they charged. But was glad to save over $400 by buying this part from Amazon having many positive reviews vs. the Honda OEM part.However, this starter broke and would only make a grinding noise after only a couple weeks and less than 25 miles leaving her CRV undrivable (and I live a good 9 hours drive away from her). At least the original one would still work most of the time. So this time my mom had to have it towed to the Honda dealer and pay another $270 in labor plus $400+ for an OEM starter since she couldn't wait for or take the risk of installing another one of these defective starters. At least she has AAA so she didn't get stuck with a $150 towing bill on top of all of that!

2014 accord ex,. No start problem, checked fuses, battery cables, gotta be the starter!Auto parts store starter cost $417.00. Read the reviews here, I rolled the dice and ordered here for what I perceive as a reasonable price (yup I'm old, 60 yrs).Honestly took me approximately 45 min to remove and another to install. The reward of car starting when completed is a pretty damn nice feeling. Also got payment from wife that night! Heh heh (her car).Went to the university of YouTube and took a few online courses is critical prior to taking on the task.

Works great! Nope! Often grinding. Up to four times before the motor starts. Not a good product. Disappointed at the least!

Installed in a Honda CRV 2015. Works perfectly every time, quick turnover / start, happy with my purchase.It has now been a couple months and still working perfectly, I will update if it fails.This install is awkward to access though, you need to take off the passenger wheel for better access. (And the bolts will still be difficult to work with.)

Edit Aug 31, 2024: Still going strong a year later with no issues at all.Starter went out in our CRV, so I went shopping around for find one to replace it with.Was shocked when all the local auto parts stores were charged $300+ for a replacement!When I found this one, I was a little skeptical because the price was so low. However, it had pretty good reviews so I decided to try it.I’m glad I did.Fit perfectly when installing. It looked identical the the OEM starter. Installed it, and it worked prefect right away. Been a little over a month now and no issues.Save your money, get this one.

I purchased this starter to replace my OEM starter on a 2014 Honda Accord Sport. OEM officially died on a Saturday night after 2 months of really slow cranks. I decided to remove Sunday morning and purchase from either Autozone or Pep Boys because the dealer price was over $500. just for the part. After searching my local parts store I found prices between $250 and $450. Still a little pricey I searched online and found the Ironside Starter on Amazon for only $75.00. It had fairly positive reviews and I could have it delivered the next day (Monday). So I pulled the trigger. Installation is fairly simple but give yourself plenty of time so you don't rush and make a mistake. I will warn you to make sure that the starter is seated correctly and flush with its mounting point. The mounting point is aluminum so the threads where the 2 bolts screw into are very soft. I think I tweaked the threads which complicated the installation. What should have been 30 minutes turned into 2 hours. After a Jack and Coke, I was finally able to chill out enough to get them in straight. Although it's too early to tell if it's going to last I can say that it looks solid, and sounds clean when starting. I'll update at the 3 months and 6 months. So far it's been a great buy. Our Accord had an intermittent start issue where sometimes it would start fine and other times it would take multiple attempts.I thought it was the battery at first because the old one was reading low in voltage. Replacing the battery did not solve the problem.Next I replaced the original starter with this Irontree unit. I just did this today 9/12/2021.1. Jack the car up as far as you can. You will wish you had more room or a lift.Taking the original starter out was not too bad. It helps to watch online videos so you can see how the connectors release and where the bolt heads are. This went quickly and I was optimistic.Putting the new starter in place was a nightmare. It was complicated by working on my back in the cramped space. The only issue I blame on the Irontree starter was the addition of loose flat and lock washers to the power connection. This made assembly more fiddly/difficult but I don't think its worth deducting a star.I spent about half an hour trying to get the shorter bolt started. This was rough while awkwardly holding the motor in place. After a while I gave up and removed the motor. Even with the motor gone the bolt wouldn't start. The threads were damaged in the mounting hole!2. Be very careful you don't damage the soft aluminum threads!I got very lucky. I had a cheap tap and die set lying around, never used. It had the right metric size tap and I was able to turn this in with a very small wrench. After this the shorter bolt went in relatively easily.3. The threads are M10x1.25. Hope you don't need this!A few more random tips.4. I removed the smaller cable from the larger cable by squeezing the clip retainer on the opposite side from the cable with needle nose pliers. Separating these cables makes it much easier to get them out of the way for removing and replacing the motor.5. I used a rubber band to hold the long bolt to the new motor with the bolts end in its mounting hole. This saved having to blindly fish the bolt into the hole later. When I needed to start the bolt I broke the rubber band and got it started fairly easily.6. I used a nylon tie strap to hold the rubber boot out of the way while I was reinstalling the cable and various washers and the nut. This was still a PITA but at least I could see. After getting the cable fastened I cut the tie strap off and reattached the boot.7. Be careful you don't break the plastic mounting parts when cranking down the 12mm cable nut. I didn't break mine but I was definitely being careful.8. For my job I didn't need to remove any other brackets, tires , etc.I had to bend the sheet metal cable mount tab back into some semblance of proper place to be able to connect the cable clip. It did come bent out of place.For once I was happy to have small hands. If you have gorilla hands it will only make this job harder.The new motor started up fine the first time with no funny noises or drama. So far the car has started on the first attempt every time. It is still early so I will update this if it fails. At this point this nice part seems to have solved a problem at very low cost. If it holds up I probably saved at least $500!replaced the starter 9/12/20219/28/2021 update - so far has started flawlessly every time with no strange noises or drama11/1/2021 update - still working flawlessly12/26/2021 gave the car to my son and he is in the process of selling it, starter still working flawlessly but won't be able to provide any longer term updates
