I opted to use pro slick jagwire cables va what came with the kit- so I cannot speak to the durability or function of the cables that are included. I will say there is a noticeable difference between the pro slick cable and the cable included- pro slick being a lot smoother and tighter wound cables. The combination I went with on the two bikes I installed them on are shifting unbelievably smooth. Very happy with the purchase- highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a bit easier time shifting.GOOD bike brake cable cutters are a must!

This is a good price for the kit compared to the retail packaged kit from jagwire, but beware that the product description says "All required end caps and cable tips" but it does not say that it only includes 8 ferrules, while many bikes require 10 ferrules for a complete shift cable replacement. Granted, you can see the number in the picture, and it has been answered in the Q&A, but the product description should really be updated to state the number, and let's be real here. Theses are plastic end caps, would it really kill their profit margin to throw 2-4 more in the bag to cover all use cases? Now I have to spend $9 to buy a 100-pack of ferrules because nobody will sell me just the 2 that are missing from this kit. Suddenly this good deal is not so good anymore.

Before doing your own repairs in your bike look into proper tools! It’s essential in doing anything with your bike!

First: for both front and rear derailleurs - if you run housing from end to end completely then this will just be enough. If you run interrupted along the frame then you have a little wiggle room for error.Second: cables are definitely long enough for both front and rearYou need real housing cutters when you are running the housing. If you have a dull or cheap pair of regular wire cutters you will mangle the housing.I bought cable/housing cutters here for around $15 red handle name starts with an "m".Cheers and enjoy your smooth shifting!

I have always gone with Jagwire when re-cabling my bikes, it has never let me down. This batch is no exception. This fit my Ultegra/DuraAce kit perfect, ferrules were properly sized, looks great! These feel a little more stiff than other OEM cables I've used and the ones it replaced, but thats kinda what you want in shift cables, to keep them from stretching and causing ghost shifting.

Worked perfect. There was plenty of cable and sheath. I even messed up on one of the cable cover lengths and had enough to recut.

This kit was enough to replace both the front and rear shifting cables for my mountain bike. The quality is good, and I observed a noticeable improvement in shifting quality (my original cables were 7 years old!).

Came with enough housing to run it completely down my bike for my front and rear derailleurs. The cabling was more than enough to do both and is a very nice cable as well.Pros:High quality cableHigh quality housingPlenty of length on bothMultiple colors to match your bike scheme.Cons:You need a nice set of cutters when you are running the housing. It is very tough if you have a dull or cheap pair of wire cutters. The cable has wire running all the way down it and if you mess up the cut it will either split the housing or make it unusable because you crushed the housing end (I know from experience). So do like I did and buy yourself a good pair of cutters.Same as above it goes for the cabling too. If you mess up cutting the cabling it will start to fray on you and make it impossible to run it through the housing let alone the rest of your bike.Use quality cutters!!
