After my spine surgery I don’t have a lot of strength and this thing has been a life savor when needing to open things. Easy to use to open things and fits in my kitchen drawers and easy to grip.

Soft plastic gripping surface slips on jar lids. The "squeeze" needed to use this to open a jar is about the same hand stress as just trying to grip & open the jar without the tool. Not worth the hassle to return - will take it to the Humane Society Thrift Shop. It's of no help to me.

I already had a similar tool both for opening food jars & opening drink cans. I purchased this because the gadget I used for opening soda cans was beginning to show that it would not last much longer. So I purchased this. The gadget I already had for opening different types of food jars (which is probably older than me) still works and I still use it. But I'm glad I have a back up.The tool that can open drink cans also serves to open stubborn drink bottle tops (think a 20 ounce drink - I haven't tried to use it to open a 2 liter mainly because I no longer purchase those) which aren't always so easy to open unless you're super strong. The tool (the smaller one) is the one that opens bottle tops that twist off and it helps you to twist them off with great ease. The larger tool in this package has a great selection of opening different size jars. I've used both but the smaller tool I've used more than the larger one at this time.The price is a great price and worth my money and I'd say worth your money as well. Would I recommend these tools? Absolutely. In fact I'm thinking of giving these tools as a gift to several people.

I don't consider myself a weakling. I'm not a muscle-bound man but I'm about average. In my entire life I have never had trouble opening a jar. I ran into a jar that I desperately needed for something I was making and I could not open it. I broke out my tools from the garage. I watched every hack I could find online and could not get this jar open. That night I sit down and ordered this item. It came today and I popped that jar lid open with no effort. I don't want to ever have a kitchen that does not have this object. I could see this being very useful for anybody to have, especially those that might not have the strength they used to or have a challenge that prevents them from being able to open jars and lids. Buy this product it's a great price and works just as you hope it would. It's a great price and works just as you hope it would.

Jar opener is hard to grip with arthritic hands. The bottle opener is great. It was hard to rate cuz one is great, the other not even.Jar opener needs a firm grip to be useful. If you have arthritis in your hand and/or fingers, there is no way to hold a strong grip. The bottle opener is easy to use. Place on a twist cap bottle, turn, opened! There is a hook on this end that will break the seal of a jar. Easy to use and works. Way easier than the jar opener piece. Opposite end is to open pop cans. It slides under the tab perfectly every time.Buy the bottle opener alone. Don’t waste money on the jar opener.
