This LH-N106 Lens Hood is designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. The non-glare matte finish on the inside further prevents or limits lens flare. It replace Nikon HB-N106 Lens Hood.

I was a little worried when I found out the Nikon no longer makes N106 lens shade. I had purchased a "compatible" product from a different vendor that was horrible and returned it. I came across this one and am super happy with the purchase. Functionally it is an exact replacement for the discontinued Nikon lens shade at more than half the price of the original and is a great value. Build quality is great made of good grade plastic. The fit is great offering a secure connection. It allows to have both filters and the lens cap attached. This is a definite buy for anyone needing a replacement for the discontinued OEM product.

Before buying a genuine Nikon lens hood, I decided to give this a shot and I’m really glad I did. The quality is surprisingly good and it fits my Nikon D3500 (with kit 55mm lens, perfectly). It doesn’t feel cheap and having a lens filter on is no problem either. No issues with the lens hood showing up in photos or the viewfinder either. I’m really happy with this! Can’t wait for my lens hood for my telephoto lens to arrive (from the same brand).

I have a Nikon AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5 - 5.6G VR lens that came as part of a kit with my Nikon 5600 DSLR camera. The lens hood fits in the slots on the end of my lens, but it doesn't rotate enough to be straight. It cants about 5° out of square. Mounted, the flat sides of the hood are NOT flat to a surface if i set my camera down. I think I will get vignetting for landscape photos at 18mm because the hood is not aligned correctly. I have sent back two others listed differently and they all fit crooked. Pity, the hood is good quality otherwise.

This lens hood is compatible with Canon & Nikon lenses (only if your Nikon lens is 52mm). Unfortunately, It didn't fit my lens and I have to return it. I still like the design of this lens hood because If you remove the adapter ring, you can fit the lens hood onto a 67mm lens. Pretty good design!
