They will protect the filters from dust, scratches and fingerprints while not in use. Simply screw your filters together then screw the stack caps on the top and bottom. Additionally, this enables a more organized, streamlined system for storing and carrying your filters. Made of aluminum alloy, the filter cap is slim and exquisite. That's to say, it is easy to carry and takes up a little space. Words are carved on the surface of the top cap by laser carving technology. (Note: Filters are NOT included)

The case that came with my close-up filter set looks to be well made and should offer excellent protection. Alas, it is NOT portable, even in a camera bag. When I take my photo walks I take a +1 diopter close-up filter along for the occasional close-up. My filter stack cap is PERFECT for this. It slips into my camera's holster bag's flat side pocket. When I travel, I will use to transport my set of stacked filters.

1st impressions: Good material & construction. Good threads (filters screw in & out properly). Grasping & turning the caps is helped by the outside diameter being ribbed and just slightly larger than my filters. The printed diameter on one cap is very helpful.

It works well and is sturdy and secure feeling- perfect for keeping an extra filter in your pocket if you don't want to bring a bagOnly downside is as you might expect, unthreading both caps takes awhile and leaves you fumbling 2 filters and 2 caps while switching a filter out, so it's not as convenient as a clamshell enclosure (it always surprises me how many threads they fit on a filter!)

This is exactly what I was looking for: a way to protect a single lens filter when in the backcountry. I can throw this in my backpack or bag and know the filter will not get damaged.This comes at the cost of some fiddling to get the filter in and out, and a bit of extra weight. I suppose you could stack filters together and use this to protect more than one, but I never see a need for anything but a single polarizer.

Well made and effective. This set of two filter caps (one for the camera end and one for the outside-world end of a stack of filters) are about as compact as any hard and protective filter holder could possibly be. They allow me to carry my polarizing filter in a tight camera bag pocket safely. They are a little more finicky to put on and remove than a separate filter case would be, but I would rather have my polarizer with me and slightly inconvenient to get to than have it sitting at home because I couldn't jam a bulky filter holder into my camera bag. If you carry a big bag of equipment with you, I would not recommend these; a hard case that you could open quickly and flip the filter out of or into would be better. But if you are paring down volume for traveling or hiking, these caps are the way to go.
