Kids will enjoy these little compasses. They work pretty well. The keychain part is not spring loaded, they just snap open and closed. They work well enough. Good for teaching kids to read maps.

I thought these for an activity with fourth and fifth graders and they were perfect for what we needed. Good quality for the price.

Bought these for my son’s birthday gift bags and it was a hit all the kids enjoyed them some even clipped them on their backpack. Great way to teach the kids as well.

Carabineers are weak but work. Compass isn't very precise. Any 5 laid side by side on a table show quite a bit of varience. But all generally point north ish...I bought to use as gifts and training tools for school age kids and for that they work. Good enough for scavenger hunts but not for any serious use
