First off, I use Shimano symetre reels as a baseline.I bought this just to be a temp reel until a symetre or sahara are in my budget.I took this cheap reel out tonight to test on my crappie rod and ended up getting bit by a hog.I fought this fish for about 5-10 minutes. Adjusting drag on the fly etc. He almost broke me off twice darting back to his log. In the end, he tired out and I got him to the bank. The review:To remain unbiased because of thr sheer size of this fish will be difficult, but I'll try.Casting and reeling felt smooth and predictable. No clicking or stiffness occured while fishing. While fighting the fish, the drag peeled smoothly and did not hang up at all!In short, this reel performed almost as good as a $90 Shimano. The only reason I say almost is because I do not know how it will fare in longevity, and I noticed that it is not 'as' effortless to reel as the Shimano. The momentum of reeling will keep the handle of this reel turning for 2-3 rotations, and I feel like a Shimano is 4-5. Very minor difference but notable.I would buy another one of these hands down.

This is my fourth KastKing reel and won’t be my last. Compared to similar reels in this price point from Diawa or Penn, there is no comparison. These reels are all metal, stainless bearings, sealed internals and they are serviceable and smooth as butter. This Golden Eagle was a gift for my brother-in-law and he loves it! Great look but more importantly great performance.

Looked at a lot of reels at this price point. Features and specs were key. Materials, retrieval rate, drag, line capacity etc. Even held a few in my hand at the big box store . l liked the look, loved the name so, I got one. Have not been disappointed. Goldilocks IMO. I am not a professional fisherman, I spend my own hard earned money and simply enjoy fishing without gear related problems.

Overall the reel seems of great quality for its price point! It is definitely a beautiful piece of work and this is probably the first thing you noticed (it looks even better in person). What you want to know though is what is it actually like in your hands? The reel is buttery smooth. The line spools almost evenly on the spool, no hour glass spooling. Durability appears to be pretty solid, but I can’t say with confidence how it will hold up over time because I haven’t had it long enough. How I see it is this. You are about to buy/have just bought a reel at a mediocre price point (under $100). With this in mind, do not come in with the expectation that this will be an endgame setup. Ultimately you will probably upgrade to a better reel as you become a better angler, but for now this will be a great stepping stool to understand what is available and determine what key attributes you may desire in later reels. Overall I’m happy with the product and would recommend it to those who are seeking to buy a reel that will better handle their needs at an affordable price point.

This KastKing Valiant Eagle 3000 spinning reel is smooth as butter!!! The bearings, the bail, the drag are all super smooth and feel very high-quality. It has water resistant construction that keeps out moisture and debris. I had previously bought my son a KastKing Sharky III spinning combo for much less than I paid for my St. Croix rod alone. I was so impressed with the function and feel of that set up that I found myself picking it up before my St. Croix/Shimano spinning set up, which cost 3 times as much as I have in that KastKing combo. As soon as I picked it up, I knew I was going to have a KastKing for myself. After using KastKing's very informative website to research what would best suit my needs, I purchased this KastKing Valiant Eagle 3000. I love that the spool is braid ready, and the reel is very lightweight. The carbon fibers add strength, so this reel should be very structurally sound. The only thing I wish they would change is that the handle can't be loosened to fold down. It has to be unscrewed and removed with its shaft. I'd rather be able to loosen and collapse it instead of removing it when I put it in a case for traveling. I still love it, and I feel I've got a far better product for about 1/3 of the price of my best reels of the same size and power. I'll look at KastKing before I buy anything else now. I'm going to check out their saltwater products next.
