  • Material: steel
  • For Schrader and Presta valves
  • Compatible with high pressure floor air pumps

The ABS1 Pro is an update over the classic Lezyne ABS Flip-Thread Chuck system. The upgraded 90 design allows the chuck to be more easily installed and removed on valves. It's highly durable construction is built with precision machined aluminum and composite matrix materials and a robust brass swivel. The chuck quickly transforms from Presta to Schrader valves by unthreading the head, flipping it, and rethreading to the chuck. The head then threads onto the valve for superior engagement and no leaking. A bleeder valve is present so you can dial in the pressure for the day's ride. An integrated Presta valve core wrench provides easy valve core tightening or removal for replacing faulty valves, tubeless sealant injection, or to increase airflow to seat pesky tubeless beads. The high-volume version for mountain bike tires and the high-pressure for road tires. Compatible with Lezyne pumps.

I bought this Lezyne Unisex_Adult ABS-1 Pro Chuck Pump Head without learning it if is compatible with the hose on my ancient Joeblow floor pump. Leayne's description said "Compatible with high pressure floor air pumps". It was NOT compatible with my high-pressure Joeblow hose: the Lezyne red barrel connector required a hose of a smaller diameter. In "desperation" I tried a smaller (spare) Joeblow hose with its plastic barrel connector; I was able to get a snug, airtight connection, and - fortunately - the threads match, and the barbed connection is solid.I am thrilled with the operation of the Lezyne head! I find it easy to use and even less awkward than clamp-on heads. A modest drawback is that the pressure release function (a button on the head) will not reduce the air pressure in the tube; it is only designed to release the residue, pressurized air in the hose so the head can be easily unscrewed from the valve stem and to avoid yanking out some valve cores. If you need to lower the pressure in your tube, you will need to unscrew the head, use the valve stem to bleed the air, and pump back up to your desired pressure.

Man kommt immer zurück.Früher war dieses Teil original drauf.Man meint ja immer was besser machen zu müssen.Völliger Schwachsinn.

Pump heads are a pain.I repeatedly find that they randomly wear and fail, or a 'friend' uses it and for some reason the little bugger never behaves properly again. This Lezyne chuck (used on a Silca Superpista here) screws onto the tyre valve. This is a little more fiddly than the push or clamp on type.Once on the seal is easily and repeatably secure, leakproof and NotComingOffAccidentally. Not at all, no way.Under pumping it is secure and good to pressure.Unscrewing, again manually slightly fiddly, a slight puff of air - not sure if from valve or simply pump hose decompressing. Much less air than other chucks have been giving on removal. On returning to a tyre a week later I've been within 5psi of target so any removal leak was trivial.Hoping this chuck is a long term keeper.(Note Silca hose needed some trimming as the chuck seems build for a thinner hose).

I have had the Lezyne steel floor pump for several years and it is a workhorse. I have had many floor pumps over the years looking for something that would be as durable and reliable as my old Silca - which gave up the ghost after a decode+ of use and abuse. Sure, this is not a 'quick release' chuck, but every pump I have had with one of those wears out. The upgrade with the angled chuck versus the straight chuck that came with the pump is a very nice to have. It is easier to attach, take a couple of seconds to spin on and there is a tight connection to the valve. Plus it works on presta and shraeder(sp?) valves with no problem. So far this chuck and the floor pump are exactly what I wanted. Great engineering and ergonomics.

I think the spec should have made it clear that this only first one model of Lezyne floor pump .

I had a cheapo Park Tools pump for the past 12 years. It was good to me but eventually the plastic that connects the hose to the body got brittle and failed. Since it was a cheap pump, there was no repairing it and I was forced to toss it in the landfill. I wanted to get something nice to replace it so I popped the big bucks at my local bike shop for what they said was the ultimate modular shop pump, sure to last me a lifetime.I have already had to replace the Pump Head after owning it probably a year. The cynic in me says that they make the parts user-serviceable so they can engineer decay and turn it into a revenue stream. It's all style and no substance. If chuck #2 breaks on me, I'm going to donate my pump to some poor sap and buy the nicer Park Tools pump. There's also a fatal flaw with the Presta chuck. It has a really gummy gasket that seals it up - and if you aren't careful not to over-tighten it on your Presta valve, it will take the core (along with all of your air pressure) out when you unscrew it. But under-tighten, and it will leak. It is a really stupid engineering flaw and the screw-on chuck offers zero benefit over the "snap to lock" variety. I've thought about switching to the non-threaded pump head but it has even worse reviews than this one.I wanted to buy the nicest tool for the job and be done and not deal with any BS for a while. This, unfortunately, is not that tool. It's a bummer my LBS recommended this to me and I bought it without reading reviews online. I'll keep looking.

I have a cheapy Blackburn pump from years ago and the pump head met its end. My pump works pretty decent so I took a gamble and bought this HV pump head. First, without opening the package, I found a bolt with a similar size as the end of the pump head. I forced the bolt into the open end of my Blackburn pump hose. It fit. So, I opened the package and tried the pump head. Nope. So, I used the tip of some pliers to stretch the hose (picture). Then I put a drop of hand soap on the new pump head...with some work I got it to go on. Now my old Blackburn has a sweet Lezyne pump head! And, this pump head is nice! It's slower to use than slip on / clamp on style of universal head... but there is a reason I replaced that head! The Lezyne screws on tight, has a bleed valve and even has a presta tool on the back of the head. NICE! If you are going to do the same thing, I'd estimate that if you can squeeze your hose on something 9mm or about 3/8 of an inch, you can use this Lezyne pump head.

Makes any pump into a great one. For me, the existence hose on the Bontrager Pump I’m using was to wide. There a couple things I could have done, but I chose just to shave down the end of the existing hose a little with a razor blade. Fit was perfect. One thing to watch for if you’re using tubes or tubeless valves with removable cores- make sure your cores are on tight because over time they will loser slightly with this pump head. Luckily if you do t have a core remover this pump head has on built in.

A little over a month ago, I replaced an ABS-2 pump head with an ABS-1. So far I am quite pleased. There is a great deal of contrast between the two designs. The ABS-2 is a marvel of engineering that somehow just doesn't work well. If I pay that much for something, I want it to work and to last for a long time. It did neither. The concept was just overly complicated for its pricepoint. The ABS-1, on the other hand, is brilliant in its simplicity and the quality of construction on my sample is excellent. It works!I spent over 45 years in manufacturing, starting as a tool and die apprentice, earning a journeyman's certification, working in design, quality control, and teaching. If a simple design does the job well, I'm all for it. The ABS-1 should outlast me.
