Batteries not included, no big deal. Pop in 2 AA batteries and fire up the torch.

I use this igniter for my Smith Silver Smith torch. It does a great job and does not take much room on my small welding/soldering table.

I've struggled with a striker forever because I just couldn't justify the cost I'd seen on jewelry supply shops (hello rio grande :-/ ) but finally got frustrated enough that I checked Amazon. So far it works great. I don't know how long it's going to hold up, but even if it's only 6 months I'll feel like I got my money's worth from it. NOW TO GO MELT ALL THE THINGS!!!!

I brought one similar years ago and its finally giving up the ghost. Of course, a bunch of high school students helped it out. Time for a new one. Brought this one because at Rio Grande, they wanted $45 for the same thing. Yeah. . nope. This is definitely just as good, if not better because of the savings. Its safe to use for igniting the torches for soldering instead of those stupid strikers. And the back where the batteries go, the cover actually snaps back into place, keeping those batteries in. win win
