So for tying Perdigon Nymphs and some beadheads, I really like Loon UV Clear Fly Finish, Flow in the 1/2 oz size. You can made a ton of nymphs with the 1/2 oz size. No odor too. What I also really like is the product comes with a small applicator brush. I typically remove excess resin on the brush at the opening of the bottle and lightly coat my flies. Give them a "shot" for about 20 seconds with a UV light. Makes a nice solid and smooth finish. Colors of thread, sharpie pen, or tinsel really "pop" too after coating applied. You can do a second layer, but typically, one layer is all you need. Highly recommend.

Geiles Produkt!

Loon was careful to develop this resin so that it is environmentally friendly. I have the thin type which penetrates just about all fly tying material. The first time I used it a small drop penetrated completely the fly pattern that I was tying. After learning that I started to use a toothpick with a very small amount of resin to seal my flies. I have ordered the flow type to see if it is less viscous.

Great stuff except it did not cure 'hard'. 'hard' to me is hard like acrylic, polyester, glass, a rock, etc. This stuff cures 'tough' like very hard rubber, oak, lead, polyethylene, etc. I thought I could use it as a matrix for fiberglass instead of polyester resin, but the result was a kind of leathery, plasticy type of composite; if you bent it, it would not break. And don't say "it's not supposed to be used for that..." the issue is that it does not cure 'hard' as advertized. Update brush part of kit was received broken, but seller sent a new replacement, thanks!

Wonderful product for what it was intended for. Tried to use it as a protector on metal jewelry (I don't advise that), however I'll continue to use it on flys because it's the best product on the market for that purpose.
