These covers are used in New Jersey to prevent snow and rain from coming into basement windows. They work well and are placed above the cellar window well area. They slide nicely up against the brick wall and keep rain, debris, small animals, and snow from entering the basement window well areas. In my area where we get snow every year, they last about six years, work very well, and are worth the money. I have tried the ones they sell at Home Depot, but they do not hold up as well.

We ordered these back in June to replace others we had, they just stand in place, there's really no installation needed. They took nearly 3 weeks to arrive, they weren't shipping from overseas so not sure why.After they finally arrived took them out of the box - they were very flimsy and made of the thin hard plastic that cracks easily. But, I'm an optimist, we had waited 3+ weeks to get them so... We put them up.After a couple of weeks and a few rain storms I noticed they had bent, but decided not to return them because we had tossed the box. A month later and two rains they had bent so badly they were inside out. By October they had cracked so badly that my husband finally just put a tarp down, jammed these things on top, and added a GARBAGE PAIL to keep the rain out until we can new ones custom made (it's hard to find this size) so now it looks like we live in a trailer camp (not that there's anything wrong with that).Ive messaged the seller twice asking if ours were just defective and if we could get a refund but the seller hasn't responded. These items are not expensive, but it's very frustrating to order something, wait for weeks, have it be defective, follow up several time, but receive no response.So now I am embarrassing myself by posting these pictures so others don't make the same mistake I did. 😒🙄

May last about 5 to 7 years. the last one's I had lasted about 7 years until the plastic got brittle. Not bad for the price.

Our house was built in the 1950's and the basement window wells needed protection from the weather and debris that kept blowing into the wells. These covers were perfect for this job. Sturdy, clear and easy to install. I replaced 4 of them and was done within a half hour! You can see them from the front sidewalk and they add a certain amount of curb appeal to the house. Now I don't have to bend down in the well to remove the leaves and any other debris that could be blown into it.

Was concerned that so many said they arrived broken, but needed bad and live far from home depot. When it arrived, one side of the box was smashed in to 1/2 size and I feared the worst. But it was smashed in on the hollow side and nothing was broke. Miracle. It is light and thin but most of them are and it went on and is working but they often only last a few years and thats if nothing ever touches them. So, it was OK.

They are so much clearer than the faded plastic ones of the past, I think this is a different type of plastic and though it is not as rigid, I feel like it will resist the effects of UV better than the old style.

Does what I need it to do and covers the window completely. Looks nice. It's just a cheap, flimsy material but you get what you pay for. We anchored it down with a few long nails (we had to create our own holes, doesn't come with any) just in case it would blow away.

This fit like a glove! We needed a cover for our weeping well which we need to access our crawl space access. This cover was easy to install and it not only blocks out the wind, it keeps critters out and allows for fast access even after a big snow storm, no need to dig the space with this cover on. It’s a great buy.
