Very poor quality, product was never tested. Crank would not turn all the way around until I backed off the mounting screw. Even then it binds at one point because the gear teeth are not concentric with the pivot screw. Fortunately I only need it to drill 8 holes under water, would not recommend for regular use.

This is a piece of junk. I could not turn the knob more than a quarter revolution before it jammed. How simple could a tool such as a hand powered drill be? You turn a large wheel (gear) that has grooves on it and that wheel in turn turns a smaller gear that turns the drill bit. well this one doesn't.

I had to drill a hole under water into some plastic. I really couldn’t afford an under water drill so this filled the bill. Before I strapped on the scuba tank, I gave it a try drilling into some similar material using one of the included drill bits, after probably a minute I was concerned. I went and grabbed a drill bit from my stash and suddenly I was drilling through in a few seconds, so I just threw the drill bits that came with it into my metal recycling bin. Will this replace my cordless drill for everyday, NO, but I’m comfortable using it when nothing else will work. Low cost, dependable.

I agree with another reviewer that it's disappointing that the key for the chuck has no loop and you can't store it inside the handle. Other than that, the actual drill works great. It might feel odd because of the straight handle but the shape works in my favor for drilling holes in drywall. I have a Fiskars hand drill that also works well, but the price on this one was really low and it ended up being a good purchase.

Had to make some quarter inch holes and I didn't know anyone with an electric drill I could borrow. this thing looked sturdy enough and the price was fine and I could get it quickly. Did what I wanted it for more easily than I'd expected, and I am happy. And, I would recommend it for kids projects as well.(It is a real tool though, so watch them around the furniture)
