It took me 5 tries of ordering it before I received one without a little bend on the very corner - due to shipping and handling - but now that I have it, it's great.

I bought this 48" skimmer because I had a large uneven drywall area to fill, and I felt that I would rather fill with mud than pull down the sheetrock. I needed it narrower and used a belt sander to narrow it to about 46" to fit into a diagonal wall in a gabled area, and the blade did not bend or warp. I probably should have used a board as a screed, because this is not exactly what the skimmer's purpose is. It took a few passes to get the mud up to the level I needed. But it worked perfectly when I got to the skim stage on that wall. This wall unfortunately is flatter than the wall I did not have to skim. But the paint texture seemed to hide all the joints anyway. No rust after washing this tool. It worked awesome. Now it is going to sit and gather dust, because I am no pro and do not like drywall finishing.

I was able to use this tool and skim a ceiling area for about 18 feet and 28" wide. Had to use some scaffolding but still did a great job! There is a handle mount for them but I found that it cannot be tightened enough to hold the ratchet teeth and pops. This is why I used scaffolding.

I had to skim a ceiling and this was awesome. I have actually started to use it on any waves or imperfections that need feathered out. Not a terrible purchase at all.
