this was a perfect match for my OEM gas control on my gas log. Replacement took all of 10 minutes, and the gas log is working again as designed. It's nice to get the parts you need without paying for a service call.

This was for a VFSE 18” Empire gas logs set and I am glad I could get another one real fast through Amazon.It was real easy to install since I had all the tools available. A small Phillips-head screwdriver for working on electronics, not regular size screw driver, will be needed. I did not need the power connector that came with it because there was nothing wrong with the old one so I just matched up all the wires, learned the remote to the new receiver, and the gas logs were up and running again without a manual start.The only thing was the it did not come with velcro strap to attach it to the back of the main valve like the original one so it is not touching the ceramic back part of the fireplace so I had to pick one up from the local hardware store.

My fireplace was beeping but would not engage the pilot light. After pulling out a multimeter and testing multiple parts using a troubleshooting guide I found online, I was able to determine that the controller was bad. Placed an order on Amazon and was back up and running in just a few days, plenty of time before winter ❄️
