I'm sure it still functions electronically. It's just the fact that the thing came in banana-shaped with eight broken ceramic segments of equal length (for some odd reason) that would make it worthless for protecting the probe.Also, make sure you have a way to measure k-type thermocouples with a MAX6675 module for an Arduino microcontroller, a way to measure millivolts or microvolts, or an actual k-type probe meter that can display the range necessary.

Heavy duty connects need some work. The holes for the connecting wire are way large (or the screws way sort. Wire into those holes would need to be 12-14 gauge -- larger than the t/c wire itself. Guess I'll have to wrap them around the screws instead of using the holes. One of the thermocouple wires extends a bit far and interferes with tightening the screw. Easy fixes, so quite usable and a good price!
