I needed straps to hold new trash can covers in place. These receptacles, supplied by our new company are not as sturdy as we would like. These straps work very well and the metal hooks are very heavy and sturdy. One hook fastens to the front top lip of the can and I put the other hook on the handle. The strap was not long enough to reach the bottom metal bar at the back. The strap is tight. I know some reviews say the strap will loosen. If that happens, I will just use a kitchen clip to clip below the buckle. I'm thinking this will stop the strap from opening up more; I hope anyway. Right now, The strap is tight and I'm very happy with this purchase and the price. It's easy to use too.

This trash can lid lock is sturdy and effective for keeping my trash bin lid closed, especially in windy conditions or to deter animals. The heavy-duty hooks and adjustable strap prevent lids from opening, though the strap might be too short for some setups. It's easy to install and remove, striking a good balance between security and convenience. While it could be easier to adjust or loosen the tension, it has worked well for trash bin.

It's a little more difficult to remove than I expected, but my recurrent problem with raccoons scattering the contents of the trashcan over the yard has gone away.

I'm always interested in clever gadgets. I have a house full of silly things that I've thought would make life easier in some way, shape, or form. I'm always looking for new ones, new toys, new things that improve my life in some way. Last year we had an issue with a racoon family taking up residence in our residence, so when I saw this I decided to give it a try.It arrived in a plain bog and contains just the lock.It works! It's a clever little design and locks the trashcan lid down nicely. This will help both with racoons and when it's windy/storming to help prevent the trash from falling out if the can tips over.Overall I'm very happy with this lock and will use it the next time I think the critters are hungry.

A very durable strap. It's essentially two heavy duty hooks with a long bit of rip stop nylon running between them. There's one of those over under adjustment pieces in the middle. The hooks grab hold nicely and don't let go. My only real issue with this is that there's no sort of elastic property to it, or lever system that allows you to adjust tension. That would make this a home run in my book. Fits my large garbage bin just fine (mine looks just like the one in the main pictures).

This is heavy duty and absolutely helps keep the lid closed. We have heavy winds that go between houses, and rip the lids open on the trash cans and if they are empty, blow them over. These fit and adjust easily to put on your cans. It's very heavy duty on the clip/handles so there's no chance of bending or breaking. It's easy to install and take off, and gets the job done for our cans. So far since we've used them, they keep the lid closed and the cans haven't blown away.

I stumbled across these straps that seemed like they would work perfectly, so I ordered one to test. The images show a trash can that looks identical to the ones my city uses, and shows the strap running from the handle to the metal bar that the truck uses to pick it up, However, this strap it too short to fit that. Still, I was able to adjust the strap and connect it to the lip on the lid itself.This has worked great! Despite a few windy days, my trash can has remained closed. This strikes that tricky balance where It's easy to remove when necessary, but remains closed when it needs to.I will be buying another to keep my other trash can closed.
