We bought this, despite its intended use, to mix painting pots/bottles for miniature painting. Maybe a little overkill, but it works great and is easy to use one handed.

I have been looking to purchase a model paint mixer for decades. I've shaken by hand most of the time, but in some cases had to resort to the old toothpick stir method. I looked at the Micro Mark a long time ago and saw their miniature paint shaker, but couldn't bring myself to pay $55 USD for a shaker that I heard can burn out quickly. Enter the Mini Vortex Mixer. I tried it on a very old bottle of citadel paint, where the paint was almost solid (turning the bottle on its side and the paint didn't move. I added a few milliliters of water, set the paint down on the mixer, and in less than 30 seconds, everything was perfectly mixed. I was amazed. No more shaking my wrist till the bones creak, or twirling with a toothpick and getting paint everywhere and wasting it. Seldom does a product do better than it says. This is one of those times.

I'm a miniature painter and I bought a cheaper vortex mixer thinking that I don't really need an expensive version. I was very wrong. The switch mechanism in the cheaper version broke so that it never shut off, so I had to unplug it after each use. Also, the cheaper unit doesn't shake enough to mix up some of my thicker paints or paints that had been sitting for a long time.I finally broke down and bought this mixer. This model is obviously more expensive, but the difference in quality is immediately apparent. The motor is much more robust and shakes my paint bottles very thoroughly, regardless of how thick or old they are. It also has a smaller footprint than the cheaper model, slightly less than 4" in diameter. It also stays in place when being used; it doesn't "walk" across the table. The durability remains to be seen as I've only used it a few days, but it mixes small paint bottles very thoroughly. Even the most stubborn paints only take 20 seconds to mix at most. This type of item is certainly a luxury, but it works beautifully. Strongly recommend.

Like many others, I picked this up for mixing paints for hobbying/miniature painting. For this, it's flawless. The unit is heavy, sturdy, and with the rubberized feet won't jump around your desk. It accepts any size/shape bottle I've thrown at it and handles the usual suspects very well. Citadel pots sit flush and mix flawlessly. Throw that chunky Corax white on get it nice and smooth. There is no overlooking the fact that this is expensive... However, once it has a place on your desk, you'll wonder how you ever lived with out. Tossing a paint on the mixer for 10 seconds and having your paint perfectly mixed is just too nice to ever go back to the endless shake weighting of paint bottles. My one gripe - the power source is large and awkward, taking up too much space on a power strip. Overall, a pretty minor inconvenience that doesn't take away from the fact that it does exactly what you'd want it to and seems to be fairly indestructible.

I’m happy to have gotten this little guy to use for my nail polish. It is solid and compact, good quality. I was a little nervous that it was going to be uncomfortable to use since it vibrates your hand as you hold the polish to mix. But not so, it is just a little shaking, it does not bother me. It does an awesome job at mixing my polishes and thicker stamping polishes. If the stamping polishes are a little to thick I do add a little thinner to get it mixed. Works great with glitter, shimmers, flakies, etc. Mixes everything throughly. It is perfectly sized for me, just takes up a tiny space on my desk, about the size of a coffee cup or a little smaller. I always have it plugged and ready to go. When I got it was around eighty bucks, so I feel a got an awesome value, I do see the price fluctuate a lot, so keep an eye on it, you might get a good deal too.

I use this thing for shaking model paint containers, which isn’t really what it was designed for but excels at. It’s very effective and does a better job than I thought it would. With over 100 different paints, this saves a lot of time (and muscle fatigue) when it comes to mixing a paint that needs to be used. It’s a little on the expensive side but it does appear to be built well. You get what you pay for. Would recommend if you spend a lot of time painting models.

I picked this up pretty much just for mixing up paint bottle for miniature painting. To this end this thing handles everything and mixes nicely in just seconds. It's able to mix any kind of paint pot I can throw at it Citadel, Vallejo, Army Painter, and even some bigger glass jars of Liquitex inks. It's also a bit heavier than I thought which is good good along with it's rubber feet keep it from moving while shaking. One thing that really takes this up to the next level is also if you have mixing bead/ball in your paint too.So far after using for a little bit I have only 2 things that would be a downside. The first is the power cord that comes with this is very short, like very short. I got a 3 foot cord that barely reached the power strip on the floor under my painting desk, and I feel like this was meant for more of an actual laboratory setting where you have bench-top power plugs. The only other downside that isn't really a downside for me is the rubber top you rest your bottle or tube of paint on is very soft. So I could understand some other reviews mentioning the mixer broke after use. This is a higher end piece of kit and if you mush down on the top too hard you can break the rotating piece underneath.Overall though this thing is amazing and gets a solid recommendation from me, yes it is worth it over the cheaper $30-$60 mixers.

Hasta el momento nos ha funcionado muy bien. Es bastante potente en comparación con su tamaño y el precio es bajo comparado con otros equipos con el mismo propósito. Lo compraría de nuevo definitivamente.
