I am SO pleased with how easy this is to use!! As someone attempting a minor floor replacement for the first time (hallway water damage), I wasn't sure what to expect, or how feasible it would actually be for me to do by myself. But this easy to cut, easy to fit, easy to adhere underlayment is, without question, the reason behind my success! I am sure people with plenty of flooring experience would also love working with this product, but in case anyone out there with less experience is wondering if this is the right product, my entirely inexperienced answer is a resounding YES. Granted, I have nothing to compare it to, so there is that… but then again, as the same someone with nothing to compare it to, I was able to successfully fix the floor myself. Which, in my book, says quite a lot! 😅

Package label says: ideal for condos and multifamily housing; easy to install fan-fold, easy to cut grid pattern, easy to seal pretaped sides; industry leading moisture protection and sound insulation; specifications: dimensions: 2 mm thick x 4 ft wide x 25 ft long, moisture protection: 0.01 lbs/24 hrs/1,000 sq ft, impact sound insulation: IIC 69/STC66/Delta 20, thermal insulation: R-value of 5/in, smoothing: 1.5 mm, compression strength: >15 PSI, safety: odorless, nontoxic, 100% recyclable; floor score certified by SCS Global Services; made in USA with globally sourced materials. This underlayment is very easy to install and higher quality compared to other, roll products; the benefits listed on the label sum it up - fan-fold so easy to handle and store, grid pattern so easy to cut to size, and has pre-taped sides (peel off liner) so easy to connect and seal. It works with all floating floors (engineered wood and laminate floors without attached pad); label says this does not include Luxury Vinyl Tile. I recommend looking for warehouse deals. I received a fantastic deal on several orders of this product via Amazon warehouse. The layment is close to the other gold name brand foam. Super easy to install for DIYers. Makes room quiet compared to using just a vapor barrier. Only con is the foam is firm. Has absolutely no give. After I installed my LVP. Walking on the floor felt like walking on concrete. Pro is the layment also acts as a vapor barrier. Many more pros than cons.

Mohawk bought Pergo and this is the exact same product that Pergo markets. I have used this in quite a few rooms and it works well. It is definitely pricey for what it is.

This underlayment is incredibly straight forward when it comes to installation. I bought this underlayment for my kitchen laminate flooring project, and I couldn't be happier. The fan fold easily folded out over the subfloor. The grid pattern made it very easy to make straight cuts, and the pre-taped sides were a big time saver. I am super happy with how the floor feels underfoot with this underlayment. If you are planning a DIY flooring project, I highly recommend Mohawk underlayment!
