Got this for my wife’s ‘13 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7. Gas cap had been feeling a little loose when tightening so figured after over a decade of use, it was probably time. Ordered this up, identical replacement to the original I removed. Nice snug fit compared to the original. Paid a little more for a Mopar part, just the way I am.

This is a Mopar product so fits on my Jeep exactly the way it should. Amazon sent it quickly and it is a nice fit for the gas refill opening.

Cleared engine code after two days of driving with new fuel cap

I went through 4 gas caps, and still kept throwing a code for small leak. I replaced the charcoal canister, and the stupid valve under the hood, and honestly thought I was looking at a crack in the vacuum line from the tank to the engine. Nope. All 4 cheap $8 or $9 gas caps were crap. Put this on, and haven't had a single code in a month. I couldn't get seven starts out of the engine before throwing the code after I cleared it with the other caps. And what's super irritating is that all five of these look exactly the same. I cannot visually see a single difference from any of the five of them. The difference is, this one works, the other four didn't. Hey, at least your paying $25 or so on Amazon instead of ridiculous $55 at Jeep. I don't know what's dumber. The fact that Jeep thinks it's acceptable to replace a gas cap every 40,000 miles, or that no one can come close to the super high quality of their subpar gas cap. I dealt with this problem for a year. I can't even tell you how much time I spent dealing with it replacing other parts, research comment all the other stuff. I actually feel like Jeep stole some of my life away. Because their engineering can't figure out how a gas cap works and the best they can do is go, "I guess they'll just have to replace it every 40,000 miles like their tires." Clearly this thing was designed by the same guy who thought putting the alternator in the most impossible area of the vehicle was a good idea.

We were replacing the gas cap because of a warning light. This was exactly the same as the one it came with, fit perfectly and the warning light went off. Works for me. Was cheaper for same part, same manufacturer, from local auto parts stores.

tl;dr: Perfect replacement, but not the solution I needed.OEM replacement for my five-year-old cap. Truck (2016 RAM 1500) was throwing 0456/0457 codes and Gas Cap & Check Engine lights were illuminated on dash. Replacing the cap didn't correct the issue; had to replace the Evaporative System Integrity Module (also called a Leak Detection Pump), which is also available from several sources here on Amazon. Gas cap was the inexpensive first step, but eventually had to buy & replace the ESIM and clear the codes, before the lights could be reset. Buy these parts here, and search YouTube for "P0456 fix" - there are plenty of others who have done this, already!

My 9 year old jeep kept throwing 'check gas cap' codes and coming loose on its own. So the work on the assorted Wrangler forums was the gas cap should be replaced (preferably with a factory/Mopar unit). So I gave this a try. Easy to swap, arrived quickly -- and most importantly -- solved my problems.
