This bulb fit my lamp fixture without sticking out and provides a medium strength UVB output that I tested using a UV test card. I would consider buying again when it's time to replace in about 6 months.

The bulb is great it works very well. I love the fact that it's shorter than some of the other bulbs out there just because of how my basking cage is any distance I can get away from my turtles is a plus and this thing is significantly shorter than other bulbs on the market. The price point also knocks the socks off the competition, especially for the power. I haven't actually scientifically measured the power of the light because I have no means to buy as far as I can tell this thing is giving my turtles plenty of uva/Uvb. That's one thing you can tell is if they aren't getting enough they will get a vitamin deficiency and their eyes can swell shut (speaking from experience). None of those problems my turtles stack on top of each other to get up to the basking area this bulb combined with a heat bulb and they absolutely love it and they are healthy as all get out. I gotta set a timer just to make sure they don't stay up there too long because they love it so much, spready their big beautiful feet out and feeling great. Absolutely fantastic product!!!

SUPER BRIGHT! Please note this is a 10.0 lamp, so do not use it for tropical species! I was impressed with this light once it warmed up to full brightness. So many of the more inexpensive options are not bright at all and or have a more purply flickering quality to them. This looks like a name brand lamp. I also wanted to note that this is not a small compact bulb. It is full size and length for a larger fixture. I would make sure that your fixture is long enough either horizontally or vertically for this bulb as it will not fit in the shorted fixtures. I have both, so personally it wasn't a problem. It feels nice and heavy which I like, but I can't attest to the lifespan as this is the first of these I have had. If it lasts 6 months to a year I would definitely buy again since you want to switch out your UVB bulbs that often anyway as they decrease in UVB output.

I received this product as part of the Amazon Vine program, and my opinions are my own.Despite her being mad in this picture because I woke her up, this UV is what we needed since our other went out. Good brightness and doesn’t heat up.

Works pretty good for my bearded dragon but the uvb tool i have measures a slightly lower uvb output then whats posted on the box for the uvb coil bulb. Its not a significant difference but at longer distances from the base of the aquarium I can see it being an issue

I got this as a replacement for the old style UVA/UVB reptile light I’ve gotten for years for my yellow-bellied slider. I either can’t find them anymore or they’ve gotten way too expensive. They also didn’t seem to be lasting as long. This is a large bulb with a regular bulb base. You can see by the photos it’s not really designed for the light fixture I have. It sticks out from the light hood and would be a problem because of the “sunlight” being emitted in a far greater range than just under the light. It works fine for my setup as no other human or animal will be inadvertently exposed to the “excess” sunlight on a regular basis, but make sure your setup will be safe related to incidental exposure before purchasing. And, of course, it will work fine with the newer style of light fixtures. The light color with the light blue hue is different than the basically normal sunlight tone I’m used to, but I think that’s because this bulb is a 10.0 versus the 5.0 I’ve always gotten. I do like it, though. It really makes the tank look better, more natural even, and, of course, most importantly, it will help my turtle get a lot better UVB exposure. I like the instructions on how far away to position the light for the exposure you’re looking for. I definitely want to make sure my turtle doesn’t get burned. The light seems solidly built. I can’t attest to length of life since I just got it, but it says it’s good for 3,000 hours so if I have it on 12 hours a day, that’s 250 days or just a little over 8 months. From my past experience with UVB lights, it seems like this is going to do a good job helping my turtle get the UVB and UVA exposure he needs.

I got this as a replacement for the old style light I’ve had for years for my slider. This one is a bit larger than expected and does stick out some from the fixture I have. Overall that could be a problem as the sunlight being emitted could reach further given it has a larger range. So far it’s ok cause I can move the fixture I have and my turtle doesn’t bask that often but my advice would be to keep an eye on exposure with this fixture if it sticks out as well. It’s a 10.0 too vs the 5.0 I’ve been used to which can increase the intensity but I’m hoping that’s a good thing for my turtle and his health long term. For now I can’t give an update on that as it’ll need to be used longer to see results but it’s good quality now and am looking forward to seeing how it works over time.
