This was my birthday gift to myself and I'm so mad I didn't buy it sooner! I have caked just about every skien I own (besides the unused ones)! Not only does it give me more space but it makes frogging projects so easy! I don't have to worry about tangles or anything. The instructions provided were very clear and straight to the point. Great price, the yarn cake though I have yet to use one is amazing. The winder works amazing, I will say it's a little wobbly at times but I'm pretty sure it's just the table I'm using it on.

I had been super excited to use this, given I'm only 29 but have a couple decades of sports injuries stacked up that make winding yarn by hand painful. This made one okay-ish cake, before every single yarn came out a tangle, lopsided donut-disc. Tried it on acrylics, bamboo, cotton, wool thinking maybe it was how slippery the yarn was. Didn't matter the weight or slip of the yarn. Still made donuts. Not cakes.I read some people with other yarn winders had that issue with the gears slip, so I opened it up to try to realign the gears. Turns out, the central gear that the main bobbin travels around? Plastic piece that was completely threaded all the way down where it sits in the center rod. So the entire central gear was sliding with the bobbin. It looked like the manufacturer just shoved the screw end in instead of actually threading it carefully. One half-assed yarn cake for $15 is horrible value. Save yourself the headache. Get something else.Worst purchase this year by far.

I've recently started knitting and crocheting more frequently, and the NATGAI Hand-Operated Yarn Ball Winder has been a game-changer for me. This manual wool winder holder is a must-have for anyone who loves working with yarn.Firstly, the build quality is excellent. The winder feels sturdy and durable, with a smooth operation that makes winding yarn a breeze. The metal yarn guide arm ensures even tension while winding, resulting in neatly formed yarn cakes every time.Using the winder is straightforward, even for beginners. It clamps securely to my table or work surface, staying stable during use. The hand-operated crank turns smoothly and effortlessly, allowing me to wind yarn quickly and efficiently. I can easily wind up to 4 ounces of yarn without any issues. One of the standout features is its versatility. The winder accommodates a wide range of yarn weights and types, from thin lace yarn to bulky weight yarn. This flexibility means I can use it for various projects without needing multiple winders.Another great benefit is how compact and portable it is. When not in use, it's easy to store or transport, making it ideal for taking to crafting meetups or using in different rooms of the house.Cleaning and maintenance are also simple. The smooth surface and minimal moving parts make it easy to wipe down after use, and there's no need for frequent oiling or adjustments.Overall, the NATGAI Hand-Operated Yarn Ball Winder has significantly enhanced my crafting experience. It's well-built, easy to use, and offers excellent value for money. Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just starting out, I highly recommend this yarn winder for its efficiency, reliability, and ability to streamline your yarn preparation process.

Was easy to attach to my counter but it wasn’t winding my yarn correctly from the start. It was turning it into a doughnut instead of a cake. I decided to take the machine apart to see if o could fix it. You only have to remove the bobbin from the top. That exposes a metal rod with a clamp. Remove the clamp and the wi see lifts right off. I found that the 2 gears inside were not aligned at all. I gave them a little push and they popped right back into place. I put everything back together and it worked great after that.It did cake up 200g of yarn with no issues but I’m a bit concerned that I will have to take it apart often. Time will tell.

This was easy to set up. I crochet a lot, and wonding up my yarn into managable balls was time consuming. The balls were hard, not easily stored. This contraption winds the yarn into very soft cakes. They are easier to compress for storage. Finding the start of the cake is easy as well. I am glad I made this purchase.Update: Worked so well, I bought one for my daughter, who is a knitter. Works hreat for her as well.
