helpful model for personal edification, but if you want to move beyond basic bone structure, this model won't get you there, as the joints are random and dont align to hinge, ball and socket, pivot, etc.

Sturdy and easy to assemble but not quite anatomically correct.Arms are attached at a really odd angle. Good for elementary level science classes. Anything requiring actual learning of bones or how they are connected won’t do it.

Alignment of this particular skeleton is defective enough to return/exchange. Sternum/ribcage is torqued far off center. Pelvis is cocked in opposite direction from rib cage torque. Illustration is of a properly aligned skeleton, so something may have distorted this unit. Also, tiny nut that holds arm on is missing from one of skeleton's shoulders. No instruction sheet provided for how to assemble skeleton on stand - which nuts/wing nuts/washers go where. Would save time and learning to read assembly directions is part of the educational process.(Skeleton's jaw pulls open, snaps itself shut via springs and the top of the skull bounces up, sometimes jumps off - "flips its lid". Quite entertaining.)

I replaced the "fall apart just looking at it" model I ordered months ago. This one does not fall apart at the tiniest movement, and matter of fact all limbs are safely attached via screws/bolts. I am an energy wellness student and use this for long distance sessions with my sister in Italy. It is just tall enough to fit nicely under a lamp. Its being so sturdy and well built makes it worth the tiny extra space it takes up and the few dollars extra I spent. The plastic has no sharp edges. The jaw opens, and the top of the skull can also be opened. All limbs are perfectly detailed and articulated. Note: it lacks assembly instructions, but assembly is quite simple. The rod inserts into a hole in the pelvis, and is held to the base by a screw and bolt (with washers). The legs just need to be bolted on, and the arms are already attached. It also comes with a very nicely designed and detailed anatomy chart. I'm very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend this product to any anatomy student or evergy practitioner.

This model comes assembled and is very detailed and accurate, given the price. No, this is not the paragon of perfection in terms of anatomical accuracy, but it is a fantastic learning tool for high school age, or even undergraduate students. My high school student daughter used red clay to build a muscular model over the right-half of this skeleton to show the musculoskeletal system in one model. She got high praise for it from her health teacher. I highly recommend this for students or others curious about anatomy.

Update: the company has great customer service. I did like the material it's made of for display purposes, some type of ceramic. It's a pre-assembled model. I bought it thinking I could put it together with my 4 year old's who is skeleton obsessed and not necessarily let him play with it but display it. Not so, do he tried to play with it. The joints are not intended for play and broke apart when he did.
