Received everything but the carry case. Description and list of included items states comes with plastic carry case that would be very handy to store and keep from getting damaged

Works wonderful, but one person has to spread the band with two hands while the other inserts the sack of the bull.

After blade castrating (which gives me sympathy pains) I figured I'd give banding a shot. Faster, easier on the animal, and no blood. Callicrate is a quality made product with a simple design that works extremely well. You could literally castrate all day with little fatigue to the operator.

got this thing in last week and took care of 4 calves today between 300 and 400lbs and I definitely prefer this over the burdizios we've been using since forever, although I'm sure the calves weren't all that impressed. lacking a squeeze chute, it was still a 3 man job, but at least we weren't laying in the "mud" doing it! the contraption is well built, however I would like to see a reverser on the ratchet mechanism, I missed one on my first attempt and didn't realize he had pulled it out until after I started tightening up the band. a squeeze trigger that operates the ratchet on a pistol style handle might be a little less awkward to use; I needed a third hand when I was getting the band in position. outside of that, it's much nicer than the little green donuts, since most of the calves I end up with are too big for those.

I'd already used a Callicrate-Bander on calves here in the past couple years. Finally I bought my own! And I am happy as ever and just used it yesterday.I have banded one month old to two years old with 100% success. They make a mini-bander which I intend to buy for calves younger. When you get yours in the mail, all you need to do is read and re-read, and look at the detailed pictures of instruction placard. Note about not tightening too much as the tension then exceeds the breaking-strength of the elastic-rubber-tubing. I learned that one three years ago.At fist, many "might" be inclined to think the bander couldn't possibly by "handy" to use. However, it's quite the contrary and easy to band. I have even banded the occasional "kicker" with no extra time needed. I'd guess it takes me 15 to 45 seconds on the outside time frame ... the latter being for an overly fidgety, younger, calf.I work alone and use my Priefert Head-Gate-Squeeze-Chute with 40 feet of closed metal chute from the "turn".This device is a "Keeper". Do buy more of the "Loops" in case you bust one. I have numerous and they are just as good when next season comes if you didn't use them last season.
