Nothing not to like about this. The line does get thinner on the smaller hook sizes. I probably use these assist hooks the most as it feels the most versatile without impeding the action of the jig. It has a small solid ring too so moves freely on a split ring attached to your jig.It changes with the size/shape of the jig but generally speaking, I use a 2/0 for 60~100g jig, 3/0 or 100g~180g, 4/0 above 180g and 5/0 above 300g but the jig shape ends to be more of a factor on heavy jigs. Other brands I might go heavier up to 7/0 but keep in mind that these assist hooks are for medium to light duty. These are good for short and medium length jigs. The hooks are BKK and really strong but your limiting factor would be the assist cord. The larger 4/0 (guessing 250lb PE) will work for tuna up to probably 80lb and non so toothy fish like yellowtail, rockcod, calico, halibut, snapper, etc. without an issue, which is the majority of the fishing I do. The smaller 2/0 (guessing 120lb PE) are good for these non toothy fish too but I think a big barracuda or bonito might even be able to chew through the cord if it was rubbing against their teeth. So for heavy duty tuna, etc., I would go with something else. For everything else, it’s not the best but I keep on going back to these as they are consistent and work good enough for most applications. They are light and the softer PE cord seems to not impede the jig action so they’ve become my default. The price is good too as you get three hooks per pack.

Extremely sharp hooks that work well with most vertical jigs.

Very nice quality. I pair these up to any jig along with their 90kg rings with a spro heavy duty swivel. Over time the line does begin to get worn but I expected that

Headed out for a 2.5 day trip from San Diego searching for Bluefin tuna. Many of the fish are taken with knife jigs but I decided to change the assist hooks on mine with bigger stronger hooks. I’ve dealt with Nomad Tackle Co. and find their products to be strong and productive so I went with them for this change out. I will report back after my trip!Update: 8/19/24 Had a great trip. However the 4/0 assist hooks were way too small for the size of the Bluefin (50-150 lbs). Not knocking the product but most people on the trip were using 7/0 which were not offered by Nomad.

I ordered the 4/0 hooks, and they run big for their stated size. I would like a full kevlar loop rather than the ring, and a bit beefier string. But the hooks are definitely strong and sharp.
