Very portible. Used this with a power pack to repair wiring on the Benz. This tool can heat up fast and heat the target surfaces fast, allowing the solder to flow and bind everyting together faster than any other Iron I have ever used. Very nice tool.

I love how versatile this iron is! There's a bunch of tips available and you can power it from almost anything. I have an Anker 65w GaN Prime wall charger, a Goal Zero battery bank, and I even found an adapter that lets me use my laptop charger (Dell has a 7.4mm barrel connector and the iron needs a 5.5mm x 2.5mm barrel connector). The included cords are all soft silicone for heat resistance. I travel with tools alot, so being able to use my laptop charger (which I always have to carry anyway) is really nice as I can save weight and space not having to carry a dedicated power supply. It's ultra compact and lightweight compared to the butane iron I've been using. I no longer have to decide whether to take the butane one or not. This one is so small I can always take it. It's also superior to a butane iron in that you can have it in checked luggage. It's much better for the smaller detailed soldering that I often find myself doing. Butane irons can certainly dump a lot of heat into your work, but that's not always what you want. I will say, the thermal mass is not as good as a full size iron or even a butane iron. It can sometimes take a bit to get the solder to reflow. But, it's good enough to get the job done in a pinch. Using the DC barrel jack with a laptop power supply or the included one definitely yields better performance than USB-C, but I found running it off USB-C to be perfectly usable. Running it off my Goal Zero battery bank, it drew about 52w when heating. It draws >1w when idle. With the Sherpa 100AC at a full charge (≈95Wh capacity) you could work for several hours.

This guy can work wherever you need it! I am a field service engineer and often need to solder something in the area where the power outlet is far away. This soldering iron can be used with a power bank in the pocket. I got a 30000 mAh power bank and I am really independent from power outlets now.It comes with one tip, and this tip is too small. Different tip sizes are available though and well as many accessories. However, when I got everything I need, it was costly...What is really missed is a holder for iron and all accessories which would allow to work without table or flat surface around. I would love to get something like a holster where I could put the hot iron while I do not need it. The provided soldering stand is not suitable and actually does not hold the iron reliably. Also, I could have a magnet to be attached to a steel surfaces.Bottom line - it is great but costly solution if you need to work with electronics and electric far away from power outlets.

After reading numerous reviews and watching YouTube videos, I bought the TS100 expecting a tool I could use as my regular iron. However, despite having loads of features, the soldering iron for me is just too awkward to use. The tip is too long and there’s no comfortable gripping position. If you are considering the TS100, don’t be swayed by the tools features above the handling.

I ordered this soldering gun to replace a soldering iron I have been using for the last decade. I use a soldering iron for arduino projects and 3d printed projects. This soldering iron is significantly more advanced than the antiquated soldering iron I was accustomed to.The package arrived quickly and packaged very well. This soldering iron kit includes the soldering iron, a PSU (power supply unit), a small metal base plate, a grounding cable, and a power cable to hook up to Lipo batteries for powering the soldering iron in remote locations/offgrid.The first thing I noticed was how quickly the soldering iron heats up. Blazing fast! My old soldering iron took around 10 minutes to heat up enough to melt solder, this soldering iron takes literally 10 seconds! I also appreciate that this soldering iron automatically shuts off after in-activity (must have an IMU -intervalometer motion unit, internally).I have used this soldering iron on a few projects so far and I am already in love with it.I would definitely recommend this to others.

i was looking for a good small soldering iron, so I got this because it was reccomended. But the cable is very thick and short and it keeps sliding off the table. it also came with a US cable, despite being sold on amazon.com.au and considering it cost $108, it is NOT acceptable to include the wrong cable! I had to go buy another cable just to make it work!

Update:This is a game changer. It is literally a few seconds' wait to heat up to your selectable(100-400 Celsius) operating temp!Almost as quickly, it's cooled back to room temp when you're done. It's tiny, solidly built, and has an OLED display for a variety of info.interchangeable replacement tips are one screw, trivial to do.This one comes with a power brick that serves up 24v @3 amps, so you get the full power potential of the iron with it. It will operate down to 10v, for battery powered soldering jobs away from your workbench.End of update. The first one arrived, I plugged it in with its included 24V power supply, and turned it on. In a few (maybe 6) seconds, the tip was glowing orange. Glowing orange metal is around 2100 C. Solder melts at about 190 C. The iron's default setting was 300 C. The temp reading was showing -3 C while the tip was glowing orange.I'll update if the replacement iron works as expected.

This is a great little soldering iron. It has temperature control like a soldering station but portability like a single temp iron. The heating element is right at the tip of the iron so it heats up quickly and cools quickly. It doesn't have a large thermal mass/load so it might not work well on large heat sinks like ground planes but that hasn't been an issue for me. I think the fast response of the iron and the heating element being at the tip allow it to compensate for that.I don't have a proper work bench at the moment so I've been reluctant to take on any projects that require soldering because I didn't want to break out the soldering station. This iron is fantastic in that respect. You can quickly setup and break down in minutes because the iron cools off so quickly. And because the display tells you the actual temp, not the just the set temp, you know when it's cool enough to pack away.
