This little device is so convenient! Whenever I need to dust, coat, or swift some flour, sugar, or corn starch on something I use it! No more big clumps of flour or corn starch on meat or fish, just an even thin coating every time!

I saw that Nami at Just One Cookbook used this and I thought it seemed unnecessary but I have lots of Japanese gadgets and I'm a bit obsessed with them. I absolutely love it! I used it to flour tonkatsu before breading it, then I dusted salmon with potato starch for teriyaki salmon. I used to do those by hand and found I wasted less with this. Then I dusted powder sugar over some cookies. I used to use a sifter for that. I have three sieves and a sifter so I could have lived without this but I really like its small size. I just scoop the four or starch or sugar directly from the container and shake away.

I was a little leery of ordering something like this, as I don't usually like specialized kitchen tools. This was worth the money! I used it last night to sprinkle cinnamon sugar all over home-made cinnamon rolls, and this sifter allowed me to cover my dough PERFECTLY! No gaps, clumps, or heavy spots. It was quick and super easy to fill, and the only problem was my fault- I kept forgetting to close the thing. (I was too excited about how well it worked that I let it slip my mind a couple of times.)If you powder things like cakes or doughnuts, or make cinnamon rolls, this little sifter is the thing to get. It's very easy to fill and use, and makes getting your sugar smoothly spread over whatever you are baking.
